    Clubby Sexed Semen

Does it really matter what you get, either way for the most part the calf is going to be terminal. Unless your promoting a bull or trying to make a donor what's the point of using sexed semen. I would assume there really isn't much of a market for it.

    Shorthorn breeding suggestion

I actually bought this heifer from Songers this summer. She is 50% shorthorn so I would like to breed her full blood shorthorn to get a 75% calf. If anyone has any other suggestions All are appreciated. The heifer is a TH carrier and I would like to keep her calf fairly showy, but I'd like to...

    Shorthorn breeding suggestion

When I say clean up her front I am mainly referring to pulling or tightening up her brisket. She has good neck extension and is fairly smooth shouldered. Is captain obvious available north of the border?

    MAB price

Carlson do you just go off the pictures from the blogs on these bulls or have you actually seen them. I have only seen a few clubby bulls in person mainly at agribition but I have to say nearly everyone I have seen looks very different from their promotional pics. There are also a lot of things...

    Shorthorn breeding suggestion

I like the thought of yesterday, he seems to have a lot of depth but I don't know if he will tighten up her brisket which I think she needs. The reason I was thinking capiche is because I can get sexed heifer semen on him. Mark, I am from Alberta, Canada. No color really doesn't matter to me.

    White hooves on shorthorns?

I one had a herford x angus steer who's front hooves were tiger striped and back hooves were pure white. I have also noticed that a horse with a white sock will usually have a white hoof.

    Smart Money?

Alongside my little purebred shorthorn operation I have been forming. I was thinking of developing some maine x angus x simmi females, so that by the time I finish University I would have a good base to breed clubby. After seeing those charolais mommas at agribition I might consider purchasing...

    Smart Money?

My guess is the focus changes to maternal characteristics, judges start picking cattle acceptable to the commercial herdsman and everyone forgets all about this hair and bone stuff. Lol   ;D ;D ;D

    Monopoly vrs Monopoly clone

Knabe can you expand on imprinting ie methylation. My understanding has always been that the donor egg has no effect on the offspring since it's nucleus is removed prior to insertion of the DNA from the original organism.

    Monopoly vrs Monopoly clone

Clones contain identical DNA, as a result the gametes that the clone and the original produce will acquire their DNA from exactly the same somatic cell DNA.  So both the clone and the original should produce the same.
