    Couple Heifer pictures

One other thing I wanted to add, the charolais heifer carry's alot more rib and depth in her gut. As they mature and hair up you will really start to see the positive features of these heifers stand out.

    Couple Heifer pictures

from what I can see in the photos I would choose the shorthorn she seems to have a little more show appeal, you have to love the ones that naturally hold there head high. Also I think she is just a touch more sound structurally, but it is hard to judge the two until you see them move around...

Feeding amaferm as well as yeast?

I want to know your guys opinions on whether it would be worth it to feed both amaferm and diamond v yeast to my show steers. Also if anyone could give me insight into how amaferm works that would be greatly appreciated. I know yeast feeds the good bacteria in the rumen, so does amaferm do the...

    sure champ Shelf Life

I was wondering how long a bag of sure champ would last in a room that has a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit, free of bugs and mice. I live in Canada so I can't just buy bags 1 at a time I will need to purchase around ten bags which will be stored for about 200 days. I am also purchasing...

    Mineral in show steer's feed

This year I am trying a custom ration using Kent feeds show blender. My question is, if I incorporate the blender into my feed program, will I still need to provide my calves with supplemental mineral?

    New website

Just a suggestion: I wouldn't mind seeing a page with some of your best cows on it, a page showing your current or previous calf crop and a page showing any champions that you have raised or exhibited if possible. The sight is very well designed I just think it could use some more content. Great...

Tips on building new wash rack

Put some kind of exhaust fan in there, also I would recommend putting the hose behind where the cattle are tied. This is what we do and the hose never gets stepped on! Definitely get posts to keep the calves from swaying side to side, it saves a ton of time and keep you from getting wet.Good luck.

    Afsl sin city bull

Is he available in Canada? He definitely fits what I am looking for, I want the bull to still carry a fair amount of shorthorn and one that is easy calving. I'm sure most of the bulls mentioned here are very good calving but I don't know how many of them would breed offspring that could compete...

how to build hair without a cooler?

If you have the time, feed them shag or hide and hair. They have ingredients that will stimulate hair growth, make a thicker hair coat, and lower the calf's internal body temperature. Continue working the calf the way you are and you will start to see results. No matter how much work you put in...

    Inbred cattle?

Alright thanks for the comments, I wasn't entirely sure if the resulting offspring would possibly be defected in some way. From what I now understand this line breeding is fairly common and the offspring usually turnout ok. Is that correct?

    Inbred cattle?

I don't think anyone would argue that in the club calf industry there isn't a lot of variation in desired genetics. If you go on cattle visions for example and scroll through the bulls probably about 65% of them relate back to heat seeker. My question is; wouldn't there be a lot of interbreeding...
