Looking for a red bull to breed to cows. How is he for length, width, and structural soundness. I would guess there would be some milking daughters in production how do they milk? What kind of bws and weaning weights can a person expect?

I have some Dover granddaughters and they appear to have the makings of some good commercial cows. I am breeding them to captain obvious and coalpit creek leader. All three bulls are red commercially oriented bulls.

They look good right now. They have great width and ample depth a neighbor and I are going to retain one of the bulls and use him.

I understand that but will the a clone sire exactly the same preformance and phenotype as the bull he was cloned from

I don't know anything about cloning so I hope my questions don't sound stupid. Does a clone bred exactly the same as his counterpart? If he does not what is the difference between a clone and a full brother?

Captain obvious could help her maybe although I don't know if he will clean her up, but a bull that will add depth of rib probably isn't going to clean any up.

We had good luck when we used him. He worked on heifers here and he sires wide thick cows that raise good calves. They aren't small cows ours were around 1450 lb cows but they stayed in great shape.

Do a search on hillside leader, jsf navigator, muridale buster 14k and tell me bulls like these are useless.

Judge I do not believe this to be true about shorthorns not being wanted. I do believe I read some where in the last couple years that cargill paid the highest premiums ever for a set of shorthorn steers. If you can't find a shorthorns out there that will not improve the beef industry you aren't...

14k's picture is impressive I've never seen any calves by him though. Does he sure better than the 2nd had a couple calves by him and they weren't real impressive but they were out of pretty common cows.

I personally believe why the angus breed is more consistent than shorthorns is the association has made them the most popular breed in the world. The sheer number of cattle in the angus breed helps their consistency and pretty much everyone in the angus breed is heading down the same road...

Yes I have four tiger daughters and the are raising their first calves and they have beautiful udders. I wish they were all a touch longer bodied but that's nit picking.
