What Simmental bull for commercial cows?

I like what I have seen with a sim x shorthorn x angus. Thought it maybe a good cross to try I am still in the pondering stages. My dad runs a bunch of cows and when he got there they were using sim angus bulls on a angus hereford x cows. Everytime we brand, the cows we sort off a big percentage...

What Simmental bull for commercial cows?

If a person wanted to use a Simmental or sim angus bull on shorthorn angus cross cows with the hopes of making good docile commercial cows. What would it be? my preference would be to keep the simmi down to 1/4 to 1/3 in the resulting calves.

Shorthorn bull from a calf to yearling progression

He's a good looking bull! Any ideas what he weighs now? I would have guessed from his calf picture that he would have a little more depth in his flank. But he's still one heck of a bull that should put some power in his calves!

    Blenview Chaser 204C.....

He definatly doesn't travel right looks like he is to straight in his shoulders and pretty big shouldered. I don't have a dog in the fight here but there's a lot better bulls out there that don't have that amount of sheath or look that hard doing.

    Sangamon Irish Plumber

I would be interested to see pictures of either of the woodland myrtle cows listed above and a picture of Irish plumber

    Sangamon Irish Plumber

He is the sire of 8419. We had a half brother to  8419 by the myrtle 213 cow he was a payoff son that was extreme and he sired some pretty good cattle for the time. I am guessing there had to be some cow power in myrtle 213 to produce good cattle out of the types of bulls like plumber and payoff.

    Straws vs Amps

Reason I say quick and I ment quick and accurate. We used infusion pipettes witha 2 cc syringe on it and I just didn't feel we were able protect it from temperature change as much as with the standard straw technique now. So I felt time was of the essence.

    Straws vs Amps

We used amps last year and normally I do my own ai work but have a buddy that works for abs breed the cows with them and we had just about 80% conception rate with just giving a lute shot to synch them up. If you are just a so so breeder I would have someone that a professional do it due to the...
