Your thoughts on the results of the National Red Angus show in Denver

I think its very important to note that there were at least calves out of the Champion bull in their stall that were also very good animals, this is something that can not be said for a lot of 2 year old bulls that are being showed.  In Canada there are stricter rules as far as registering...

    Hay....You got any!!

We are currently sitting on a minimum 3 years supply. We always keep at least 2 years supply on hand.  With the last two years being great hay growing weather in our area we have had some great hay crops and a lot of hay is heading south.  My office faces a highway that heads to the nearest...

    Another shocking event...

When we first started to AI I took the course but still didn't feel confident enough to do it so we got a neighbor to do it for us as he had been doing it for 30 plus years at that time.  When he showed up to do the first cow he went to the semen tank and got the straw of semen and walked over...

    Aussie going to Canada

A trip down to our area gives you the chance to visit 2 of the biggest breeders of Angus cattle in Canada.  Six Mile Red Angus and Peak Dot Ranch.  Both are great operations and great people.

    Shorthorn wins Canadian AllBreeds show

I would say that the quality of a show doesn't hinge on the amount of leg hair that has been pulled.  I would say that the over all quality of cattle is higher in Western Canada over Eastern Canada just due to the sheer volume to pick from in Western Canada.  This pair looks very good in the...

    Judge - Lance Leachman

He judged the red angus show at Agribition last year and did a very good job.  I agreed with most of his picks and the ones I didn't he had very good reasons behind him when he got on the mic.

    Kubota vs John Deere

Ask about the warranty on the orange one.  Lots of fine print, if you do this or that warranty is void (its in the back of the owners manual).  One major thing on the kubota is the lack of refinement.  ex: the warning lights are welded solid to the ROP's or cab frame, if these get broken by law...

Razor ~ The Next Great Charolais Bull

I think maybe you need to learn how us CANADIANS calve out cows.  Most large commercial herds in western Canada calve all there cows out on grass in the April-June months and the cows will never see a barn.  Do some research before you spout off.

    Red Angus Bulls

We are expecting 2 VGW Game Plan calves out of some bred heifers that we bought last fall.  They should be calving within the next couple weeks from the looks of them.  the 6 mile program has had some great calves out of him so we are excited to see what we end up getting.

    Red Angus Bulls

My pick would be Ter Ron Real Deal,  I have always liked him as a bull but after seeing his progeny this year out of so many different programs I think that he will be bull we will hear alot out of for the next little while.

    Northern Shorthorns Herd Bull

A great cowman that I once new made this statement "A lot of procducers are known as cattlemen. I prefer to be called a cowman. This is a critically important term because I believe the maternal side of cattle breeding is underrated and essential for profit. What's worse, the industry is set up...

    Red Angus in Denver

It was a very good showing for the Canadian's and Canadian genetic's at Denver.  Congrats to all involved.  As far as the block man goes he can get a little long winded but he is like a encyclopedia of Red Angus genetics and breeders.  I personally like him better then most block men that just...

    Wanting Red Angus maternal bulls

Yes he did die pretty young and Semen was never available through AI company's.  I know that SEMEX has a bull named Timberline that is a son of Timberlake but I have not seen any calves out of him.  In our own herd we have recently started using a Lacy MC Smash son that we are pretty excited...

    Wanting Red Angus maternal bulls

Yes Indeed is a bull that can get it done producing both females and bulls.  There a couple other sons out there that are worth looking at,  Red Six Mile Winchester (available through Genex)  combines both Indeed and Norseman King, this bull looked great as a calf but there wouldn't be any...

    New American Red Angus Rule

As a Canadian the only concern that I have is that I hope our Canadian members don't start registering all there cattle in the American association and not the Canadian, b/c as of right now we don't require American cattle to have a Canadian registration.  I don't think this will be a problem as...

    The Red Angus Post

Are you saying that Sakic is a divebomb?  This bull has done nothing but great things for us,  he helped moderate frame, tidy up some utters,  good feet and put some meat in to the bulls.  The female's out of sakic are what he is going to be remembered for.  We will continue to use him.
