Lubrisyn or better supplements for a calf?!

I'm not sure feeding a young calf supplements to give the illusion that he is sound until the new owner gets him is such a good idea. To me a big jointed calf that is over in his knee will not get better with age and weight and is just that, a calf. Neat and stout as he may be I think the right...

    MAB price

I'm not sure anyone actually read my post. I was not saying woe is me semen is sooooo expensive now I can never breed my cows. Nor was I whining about using spendy semen, trust me if i wanted to breed to him i would have bought semen a long time ago.  I was (simply) using that as a segway to...

    MAB price

Guess i still think of matt as part of his dads outfit. Same logic applies just substitute phil for matt.

    MAB price

I understand that MAB semen is selling very very well. That wasn't my point, my point is with 3 bulls producing semen, (that is assuming they are actually producing quality semen) I would imagine that they should be able to fullfill orders. My main observation was now that there are two...

    MAB price

I see now that MAB is now at $40 I think it will be interesting to see how the clones are marketed. I wonder if there is collusion going on or if one will undercut the other. On that note i kinda like Roger that. It would have been nice to see him in denver for evaluation but we will, have to...

Clipping Heifers to improve health and appetite

We are located just west of Fargo and i can tell you that as of now " he wrong". Who does your nutrition work?

    Sire Selection

These are two different schools of thought that both have Merritt but belong in different areas of the industry. Clubby guy with 40 cows can afford to spend the time picking out 10 or 12 different bulls to mate his cows how he chooses. On the other hand a purebred producer that needs to produce...

    Italian stallion

I think its interesting that Italian stallion's full sib Lucky has yet to even be mentioned. I liked him besides the fact he has borderline too much white for me, coincidentally that's the reason I didn't use MAB.... My bad. Lucky semen should be available pending collection and at least when...

    New herd bull

April calf still on dam in late dec and it's only tipping the scales at 600?

    The Unsub

He certainly didn't add any leather for me. I used him two years in a row and out of maybe 20 head I still don't have him pegged as far as what he really clicks on. Calves are very stout and structure can be a concern. The open show ND state fair champion steer was an unsub. I will try to attach...

2 months old Shorthorn plus hiefer bull prospect STEER or BULL?

He looks older than two months old in that picture. If he is indeed that young and still has a set of rocks that big I would say keep him intact for a while longer. Wouldn't use him on pedigree alone but if you like him nothing says he won't cover cows (or heifers) for you.

Could the black hided deal backfire on people?

    No, and what's a 20,000 percent bull?

    Bad Udders

Oakview, are you saying that's the last bad udder you had in your herd or the last bad udder you saw...showering, catalog or otherwise? If you can only point out one questionable udder in your herd the last 25 years I would have to say that's quite impressive if not questionable.

What do ya'll think of this exciting bull calf?

I can't  be the only one who is less than enthusiastic about his dams udder. If your looking to advance the breed then perhaps this calf isn't the way to go. Hard to tell from the picture but I dont see him being special.

Bulls to make steers in pb chars

Warrant is the clear deal on chars. Only problem is people aren't willing to cross the street to look at 50 warrants they want to drive across the state for 2 monops, or walks. If that deosnt bother you I would go on quality and use warrant.

    Best Irish Whiskey Son

Don't keep anything out of clubby stock. Not the biggest fan of maines either.

    Best Irish Whiskey Son

Knabe I agree, personally I have A policy of never keeping dirty females. As for the bull maternal perfection I think he looks neat. Would I use him.....we will see in about 2 or 3 years and if I do I highly doubt I would ever keep any daughters out of him. Sure he will probably make some cool...

    Best Irish Whiskey Son

So is paddy. I don't get what everyone's hang up on pha is, they will drive the wheels off a new car for a th dirty bull but won't walk across the street for a pha carrier. Both need to be respected and closely watched.

    Best Carrier Bull

If I'm not mistaken Vicklands beat him with the hwXwho steer they had. Calf was raised by Reimann

    paddy o mally

Do not use on heifers. The birthweights are all over the board on him.
