1 Bull to make clubby mommas

Not always impressed with meyer daughters udders, and the paddy females simply don't milk very well. Personally I think HAB is on the right track. Perhaps bulls like montezuma, and firewater could work to make char influenced females that will mesh well with clubby. Keep the females clean and as...

Theories on backwards and upside down and backwards calves

Talked to a Kimberly Vohname ( last name I probably spelled incorrectly) she studied and got her doctorate in reproduction at ISU and currently teaches several advanced repro classes at NDSU. In the last few weeks of pregnancy the smooth muscle contractions....called contractiles align the calf...

Why do I get the feeling that any psychologist would have a hayday with you?

The bull that wasn't in Denver

So only cattle that funnel to their base can fill their stride? Rubbing their back feet together on the move is a good thing? As far as the bull in question being so amazingly stout and powerful.....he just doesn't do it for me.

The bull that wasn't in Denver

The later video is better. Still wouldn't mind blowing him apart from underneath, and changing the way he strides off the outside of his rear left.

The bull that wasn't in Denver

The bull that wasn't in Denver

I would agree, in fact that goes for both bulls in this post so far, the video of the Maine bull is a great teaching example when talking structure. Just because they don't go to Denver does not mean they are overlooked diamonds in the rough.

    Bulls for smokes

    BIM VS Walks Alone

So she has yet to produce anything noteworthy for you, yet but she's your bonafide donor cow. Putting the cart before the horse?

    BIM VS Walks Alone

What did you ever end up breeding your monop donor to? I know you had asked what to use on her, just wondering what you went with.

    Eye Candy Steers

They are pretty good stock, just seem the type of cattle that can't be fed, they need to be managed. He does seem to work better on longer fronted larger framed more powerful cows, actually a lot like monopoly.

    Denver 13 bulls

I said that very same thing in an earlier post under denver videos. Remember last year when they pulled a couple videos off the website and edited them to the liking of the bull owners. Now all you get is a fading butt shot, a shoulder shot too close to do much good and then a quartering away...

    Denver 13 bulls

I have noticed that many people like to bash PHA in one hand and praise TH in the other. To me they are both to be monitored, not feared. We don't keep females out of anything clubby or Maine influenced, they just don't work here. The last clubby female we kept we ate. As per the bull Maternal...

I was talking about the videos of the promotional bulls taken in the yards.

    Denver videos

What are everyone's thoughts on the quality of the videos going up the last two years. Seems to me since Ideal video productions has taken over the camera it has become nothing but 3 or 4 shots of the calf with long pans that don't actually give you perspective of balance. Just my musings, let...

Has anyone crossed Gelbvieh with Maine

I have tried using Maine on gelbvieh cows, the calves work and sell well however keeping the daughters proves to be a real problem, you quickly find the maine influenced cattle don't milk near as well. We scrapped the Maine lines and went to true maternal breeds for female makers.

    New bull! Texas Tornado!!!!

Is it common to put the camera under the cattle you are picturing? Must be a new thing that hasn't caught on yet. Bet all the well known photographers will be taking pictures now by laying the camera on the ground once they catch on.

Who will have the best bull in Denver?

How are we to guess who will have the best critter there when most everyone on here argues for months after Denver about the best/ worst bull. I'm going out on a limb and saying chuck Norris will bring a calf then we can all agree.
