Its just frustrating. They are calling for thunderstorms on monday, so about the time its ready to bale it will rain again.

Well I am kind of stuck with it.(Its paid for and functional) How many times do you wrap the string around the bale and how far apart?

I had a guy tell me that the way they would train their bucket calves was to shove their head into the bucket and hold their head. I have never tried it but he claimed that they would start to drink out of the bucket.

To maines in pa we have had a calf just like that. I was going to put it down but decided to give it a second chance. We gave the calf a shot and it cleared up in about a month. I cant remember what the vet gave us but it worked. The vet suggested giving the cow a shot of mu-se 2 weeks before...

Some people just cant help themselves. Well i guess they can. That suck that you put all that time and money into getting it and poof its gone                                                                                                                                       

I sure hope that the headliners bw is his real bw and not something they made up. I think the headliner looks pretty neat but that bw scares me. I talked to the guy who raised heat wave today at the beef expo and he told me you can add 30lbs onto heat waves bw.

There is no sale catalog, just alittle advertising.

$50 flat fee. There isnt much advertising. I would say 25-35 head with the average around $700. There are some that sell in the $1500 range. I know I got to start somewhere but it seem that with all the extras added in (trucking,health papers) that it will really eat into any profit.

Regular auction. There is a sale close to me that has only been around for about five years. They want $50 a head but its not a big sale, mostly small local breeders like my self.

I was thinking about putting some of my calves in a sale this year. Whats the average cost to do this?

Ganggreen maybe you should just move on. I sold my first ever club calf off of this site. It didnt cost me one cent. Sure beats getting health papers, paying a consignment fee and trucking to sale. So the way I figure it selling my calf on this site saved me atleast $100. I'm just getting...

It is kind of a double edge sword. Money drives the show industry but it is the money that is killing it at a county level. The cost of competing is driving people into other cheaper projects or out of it altogether.

Does anybody have a picture of him? I did some searching but couldn't find one.
