We leave in less than two weeks.  Not sure I can be ready. 

Here in Northeast Oklahoma we are not supposed to have big cats.  But we saw one last fall and I have a neighbor that has caught it twice on his game camera. Sure makes you a little worried about calving season.  Were are you located?

I am betting she will be their, we really like the bred and owned show at the Junior Nationals.  We entered her at Denver but I am not sure we will take her.  That long of a trip seems hard on those babies. 

Mark I hope she looks like that cow someday. That heifer is a 7/8ths and is also out of Bullet and a 3/4 shorthorn 1/4 red angus cow that is a really nice cow.

It was dark in the barn but I snapped a picture last night after we fed. 

This is my son's pick of our spring born heifers.  She is a May out of an old Bedwell bred cow and a bull we call Lane's Bullet.  He can show her in the bred and owned and he is the breeder of the cow and bull.  I thought that was pretty cool.  Plus she has a great attitude.  I was able to slip...

One problem you may have this year last week a group of 6 weight charolias cross steers brought $2 a pound.  They brought more than $1200 at the sale barn.

This calf is out of Throwback and an impact shaker cow that goes back to the bedwell family candy cow family.  One of the best heifers we ever sold was out of his mother. 

This calf is an end of April Throwback out of a 2 year old heifer that is out of MM Delco.

The Freedom bull was grand on saturday and then on sunday Answer was grand and Freedom was reserve.

I am not sure but would guess the Bigham family at Elbee farms has been line breeding Shorthorns as long as anyone.  Those cattle are designed to survive and are manange with little to no feed.
