We had record flooding. We got a little over 11 inches. Had one neighbor loose 150 cows. 

We have a cow family that are decedents of the Bedwells Bunnie cow.  They are my favorite cows we own.  Milk good rebreed quickly and always raise a very good calf.  We have a first calf Bunnie that has a November I-80 heifer calf that we are very excited about. 

The little roan is a Sonny x Mona Lisa. The big roan is a RSF Hummer x Lucky Charm. the red heifer is a simplify x Kaba Rose. They all are a little  different from each other.

I always like to post the new projects then kinda keep picturing them as we go along. So here are the newbies to the barn.  Hopefully they will mature into useful cows and maybe be fun along the way.

Does anyone have the results from these sales?

To be honest I am as discouraged with the breed as I have ever been.  I love the cows and know the good ones are as good as any.  But it seems like as a breed we get nickel and dimed to death at every point.  When we have to sell at the sale barn we take a huge discount, then when we sell cows...

It was a very tough sale.  I am not sure what the I 80 brought.  We did not get Throwback sold so he got to come back and we will put him onto a group of heifers this fall.

Here is a good opportunity to add value to all of the calves out of your heifers.

They have came a long way.  early pictures of just weaned calves is tough deal.  I like the heifer what is her mother?

Self promotion.  I would use Elbee Throwback.  He will put more guts and hip into the calf.  They come super easy and have great attitudes.  Plus he has sired as competitive calves as any calving ease bull in the breed especially considering his limited use. 

Lot 5 and 8 of studers then Mitches was the ones I liked.  His white heifer that was not in the catalog looked really good on facebook.

I hope he finds a good home.  It has been very interesting in the types of herds that have shown interest in him, from as clubby as it gets to as far as you can get on the other spectrum.
