    Frozen Ears

you could also use foal blankets on the calf's body. we use them at work on the foals and they rarely are able to take them off by themselves. you could try vet wrapping some socks on the ears

    Opinions

It never hurts to have calves/cows/bulls halter and lead broke. As far as shows he looks well built if you put some hair on him and clip him right I think you will be able to achieve the look that will promote the bull and your program

    Opinions?

You could also do some research and try to through a nice blue roan which would be easier to sell, especially if its registered. You could also look into starburst bull and FSF has a couple other nice bulls such as hardline, bearcat, warpaint, and powerline

    Opinions?

She is pretty small and a little early to make the call on who to breed her to but I would lay the feed to her and clip her up real nice. I think she will make a good cow. But on suggestions on breeding I would go Jesse James and I am a big fan of indian Outlaw lately

Calf losing hair around hooves and dew claws

Try using a root fluffier from Sullivan's I have had great luck with it on growing leg hair

    Calf not growing hair

I try to work with with mine at least once a day but twice is ideal, you don't need to rinse everyday but at least comb and blow. In the summer it's 3 times a day and under mist fans all day for mine. But good luck this weekend.

    Calf not growing hair

you have to constantly work the hair, rinsing , blowing and combing. the more time you spend combing her the more hair she will grow. I dont know anything about the dam but it also may not be in her genetics to grow a lot of hair, just enough to keep warm. are you taking her to HBC

    Barn ventilation

If you plan on keeping them in there all day an letting them out at night then You need to keep the pens very clean. The last thing you want is your cakes going blind from an ammonia problem. And if you are constantly working with them and blowing then out you should be alright but you can buy...

    Fan cage,dividers, other options ?

We made our fan cage and it's so much better than dividers. It might be a little more difficult to get to the shows but we wired ours so I can kick fans on and off with out having to so sort through plugs.

    Selling cattle on here

I feel like I have to just love the steer upon immediate sight. Not even love just know that I can do something with this calf. The steer that we  ought earlier this year was super green and it was a split second decision but I knew that he was a good buy. I also notice that when I'm working...

    Bodacious is dead?

I only saw one choppin wood steer that was ever worth anything and he still wasn't worth much. I would just find it difficult to pull the trigger breeding cluby calves to a grey clubby bull

    Bodacious is dead?

That explains why is $250+ a unit did bodacious die from natural causes or were they just "making space" I find it hard to believe that they would get rid of a bull like that on purpose

    Help! Steer Afraid of People

To justify why some people spend a lot of money on show calves. I know that most people spend a lot of money on calves to promote there breeding program. It may not be there calf that wins but they are noticed when they win. It's a win win situation because the breeder of the animal gets noticed...
