We had a 15 year old cow go down on ice while being bred, she pinched a nerve and could move her left hind. It was 3 weeks before she could get up on her own, we almost put her out of her misery twice. To be honest I thought we were just delaying the inevitable, but she's back to normal now.

I would think its fair to assume that almost all bulls would have mixed results with heifers. Some heifers just have big BW in their pedigree, i wouldn't worry too much about a few hand pulls. I wish i could get some Pericles semen up in Canada, I'm only about 2hrs from his breeder but he...

We've had one, didn't get it weighed because the mother is a complete psycho, but I would estimate it was mid 70's. Mother in an Angus x. Great calf though, maybe my favourite this year.

Don't rush to give him drugs, give it sometime. Once he gets over the birth then you can evaluate him better in my opinion. My father and I have different opinions about this, but I'm not a fan of this growing drug culture among cattleman. Too much pharmaceutical marketing, and too many Vets...

This catalogue is a perfect example of how all breeds pretty much look the same now. It proves that if everyone keeps breeding for the same look soon or later everything will look the same. Nice animals though.

Bought this harness off of my neighbour. Seems to work pretty good, it has pads so there's no chaffing on the donkey. The halter ties to a ring on the donkey's shoulder.

Walks Alone on angus works. Monopoly is out of an angus cow, so you'll end up with a 3/4. Good as heifers, but not ideal for a show steer imo. Of course it really depends on the cow though.

So you're not breeding heifers, but trying to make heifers?  I think we need more info on the types of females these bulls will be used on will be used on. Pictures and pedigrees can help identify weaknesses and help address them.

I had a Trademark heifer last year that could get her halter off in under a min every time, luckily she was too afraid to be by herself so she would run back to me lol. Using a neck tie worked, but I liked the twine strap under her throat instead, sort of like a horse halter.

I have a red/white highliner steer, the white runs right across his back. His dam is PB Maine, that has lots of red/white in her bloodline.

Try to get out in a boat and check out the coast line, it can get crazy out there so be careful though....or....you could drink Screech Rum and kiss Cod fish in your spare time.
