Fat butt/ angus bull calf, two weeks old and I have been impressed with him since he was born but would really like to see what others think good and bad?  In the first pic he is the front calf the one behind is a Sunseeker.

Do you have some calves on the ground at your place, I would like to stop by and see them? What have the bw's been like?

Thanks,  I was watching the videos on rodgers blog and reading how the WA  get better as they age. Hope that is the case cause I haven't given up on using him. Ordered a few more straws  ::)  I think he is worth trying again.

Ditto  Just got done watching those videos. I really like Rodgers bulls and just ordered my semen and will be using 3 of his bulls.

Glad to hear its not just me with the Walks Alone. I was very excited for the calves to come and got dissappointed. I only have 2 and they are only a week old but they toe out and are poorly structured. One cow is a WMW and the other was a WMW granddaugher and both are really good cows.

Thanks for  the input.  I checked her after about 2 hours and she had calmed down and let the calf suck. 

Had a bull calf out of WMW cow  on day 285 and just had a heifer around  that came on day 293. Both unassited and between 90-100 lbs

I have a cow that just calved and she is accepting calf or at least is somewhat protective of calf when you get in the pen but she keeps head bunting calf when it gets up. She isn't banging him into the gates or anything but just keeps knocking him down. I have just let her be for now in hopes...

I just had one go 292 days out of an angus cow.  Nice bull calf, solid black, really good hair and bone.  Was impressed when I first saw him..  ;D Wish I had  better luck with cows getting AI-ed and had more calves out of fat butt. I will post pics of the calf and heifer calf that came at 280 days.

So I have searched a lot of old posts and read quite a bit on gestation lengths and inducing cows.  I found one old post that I thought was interesting so I decided I would see what peoples expeiriences this year are as far as gestation variations among breeds.  I am not overly concerned yet...

I second that. Really like the chrome and looks thick..... Looks great for a week old.  Post updates as he grows.

Just had my first fat butt calf today and it was 3 days ealry, 280 days.  Little heifer calf, weighed around 75 lbs and solid black out of an angus cow. Have 3 other coming and two appear as though they should be any day now and one I am thinking will be over her due date.

I like your calf.  I found it interesting too about the weight.  I was planning to get a scale b4 I start having calves this year but had wondered how accurate weigh tapes were.  Did you use the weigh tape that goes around the calve's leg?  Would I be better off investing in the scale or going...

I don't have any calves out of brilliance yet but he is what I will be using on my heifers.

I will get mine filled out but I am bummed. My two teams are gonna have to meet in the elite 8 instead of the finals.  Kansas and UNC in same division Bummer :'(

For my clubby heifers I am using Northern Improvement and Brilliance (sexed heifer) on my other ang/simm heifers if I can get ahold of some.  It's on backorder with ABS last I knew.
