    Ft. Worth Bound!

Headed to Ft. Worth stock show today, looking forward to all the Angus meetings, banquet, bull and female sales, and mostly seeing all our friends and customers (and making new ones)! We will have roughly 20 heifers showed that we raised, mostly Angus. Good luck and safe travel to ALL! And...

    Obama says no! Surprise, Suprise

BJN, your info is wrong. First, that is 20,000 jobs, not 2,000. True, some Nebraska folks are fighting this. That is why it has been re-routed to cross only a small part of Nebraska. With the technology available, the opportunities for any leakage is minuscule. Compared to the Alaskan pipeline...

    best and worst buys

One of my worst mistakes was buying cattle from breeders that had herd-reduction sales. Obviously, they kept back their best cows, so in essence, I was paying a pretty good price for mostly second-rate cows. When I started paying a littlemore, but going for the best, our herd and show calf...

    Northern Improvement on Clubby Heifers?

N.I. is an excellent bull to produce show heifers and replacement females. Easy calving, excellent profile. Look at how amny clubby Angus go back to N.I. (including Lutton and Lutton sons). We ahd a division reserve champ Angus female @ Ft. Worth 3 years ago out of N.I. and would definitely use...

New genetic defect in Angus ?

Take it from an Angus breeder of 16 years, there is too much inbreeding going on in the Angus breed. It is called line breeding, but half sibs do NOT need to be bred to each other. There are a few big seedstock producers that my intl says have not bred to a bull OFF their ranch in 30 years...

    fall calves needed

There are many fall-born steers in Texas. We have about 25 Angus and Exotic show heifers prospects, and about 20 steer Angus and Exotic steer prospects. Long drive but worth it. Heifer and steer mates are maternal sibs to many champions, including the Reserve Champion Angus Female @ Ft...

What is your 2012 bull lineup?

Our early fall-calving Angus cows are bred to Payday, Eagle Eye, Bismarck, Lutton, Net Worth, SAV Potency, and Lookout. We plan on breeding some of the late-fall-calving group to Sexed female semen from Payday and Eagle Eye in late January. We will clean them up with a super Mandan (Angus) son...

    what to use Saugahatchee on?

In my experience, he wiorks on just about any Angus cow. If he had better carcass "numbers", he would be as used a bull asa ever produced, IMO.

    Ringworm Question

I use a curry comb and scratch off all the white and down to the blood. Then spray with fluid film. Excellent results.

    Houston Steer Show

How did the sale go? What were some of division winners and who raised them? Couldn't go this year as we are very dry and hayning every day. I WILL be at the hiefer show starting about Thursday. We should have 14-15 mostly Angus  heifers there, about 6 in the Scramble show.
