    How much would you pay for this Angus bull

    High carcass and growth EPD sire. Outcross pedigree for many breeders. Goes back to Focus and OSU bull. Good commercial appeal, don't see him working for show quality breeders.

    Triple X (XXX) Bull

    Who has used Bill Cody's Triple X bull? Did you like the results? I have a XXX son out of a High Roller cow, built like a tank but very moderate in size, as my clean-up bull on our clubby cows. How should he work on Angus cows? Do the calves come easy?

    Hardcore

    We get  about 3-5 heifers from him each year. He worked well on Angus to produce good looking, sound and functional females for us. You can get papers on his offspring from commercial cows and that is a plus. We will continue to breed to him.

    Getting started

    I think it important to also have cows that will milk. The angus-based cows seem to get along better in our hotter, harsher climate than many of the pure exotics, are usually pretty good grass-converters. Half Angus blood or more can really help you raise a good calf.

    Would agree with a couple other posters, Northern Improvement and Bismark are very good. We have bred a number of cows to both, especially Bismark this year.
