Make sure to palpate her.  Had one cow that I couldn't find the CIDR, went ahead and Lutalysed her, and went to time breed her, and found the CIDR upon sleeving her.

We synchronize, AI, and immediately turn the bull out. Let the vet palpate 60 days after bull is pulled. He's pretty good at it, and it keeps us on good terms with him.  He gets some easy work, instead of all "fire engine" work. (emergencies)

I agree totally. Only thing is, I've never had a bad one, but haven't gotten a state fair winner either. My Turn seems to work pretty well on purebred Angus, but the best ones are out of dams with some Who in their background.

We have two.  One is out of a Hannibal cow and the other a Fantasy.  Never had any Monopoly calves so can't compare.  They are nice calves.  The one out of the Fantasy cow is freakish.  Birthweights were not small but they were born unassisted.  Probably 90-100 lbs.

Called Top sires to place an order for the Ohio Beef Expo. Had Eye Candy on the list, they told me he was $50, and I scratched him off the list. I never thought to ask why.

Here are my thoughts on a lot of the complaints I here about vets.  Everyone wants them to answer their calls immediately no matter when or why they call.  Your own human physician doesnt do this, you just have to go to the ER.  Unfortunately most vets dont have the pleasure of sending patients...

Normal dosage of Lutalyse is 5mL.  I double it though.

I like the five day Cidr program. Cidr and GnRH on day 0, pull CIDR on day five, give 10 ml of Lutalyse, watch for heats, time breed everyone left at 72 hours. Very effective.

There's so much more of it on the market. Usually the original can't keep up with the demand, whether due to age, injury, etc. Some people will only use the original though.

We poured ours one evening, let it set overnight, let the water in the next day.  It was worked great for going on 6 years.  I have pictures somewhere, I'll have to look.

Some years 50%, some years 80%.  I think it's well worth the effort.
