Put a billy goat in with her. The goat will walk underneath the heifer and bunt her in the hind quarter and eventually the heifer will get used to it. Nothing works better from what I've found. Good luck.

It has happened to me. The worst case was a recip a couple years ago that was quite flighty. She hit the headgate hard and I noticed the lump on her neck almost immediately as she exited the chute. She was dead the next day. I have had a couple others that swelled a little but nothing like that...

I would put three of the same in. Likely if you put three in two will catch. Also depends on if you have more recips to put the rest of the eggs in at a later date.
