Thriller X Heatseeker steer. Thanx for the great year.

Congrats with your steer! I know you've worked hard with him all year and you deserved the wins! Thanks a lot too for all the help you've given me along the way. You definitely know your stuff and you're a great showman no matter what anyone says! Congrats again!  <party> <rock>  (clapping)

State fair fat steers as calves

I was just wondering if anyone had any pics of some top quality state fair steers as calves who sold last fall. I've been trying to search for them, but it's been hard. I'm just trying to train my eye into seeing what a "state fair quality" calf is as a 400-600 pound baby. That way when I'm out...

    Does Color Matter?

No I have not aske this question before. I was just thinking about how the quality of the calf should excel the color factor and wanted to know other's opinions.

    Does Color Matter?

Yes and especially after my county fair this year.. I'm starting to believe in the "color" factor lol. In the cross division there was one class where it took the judge forever to decide. With that being hard to decide I thought the winner of the crossbred breed would come out of that class. But...

    Does Color Matter?

Ok ya that makes sense. So I should just look for the best quality calf that I can for my budget.

    Does Color Matter?

For next years show season I was thinking of choosing a black breed steer to show. However, what if I find a nice cross steer with good quality that is not black. He would stick out more to a judge.... but would a judge more likely choose a black steer over a colored steer? Why do often black...

Stretch is very similar to Depth Charge and my steer liked it. I thought he expanded pretty well on it. It also comes in 50 lb bags.
