    Tips for State Fair stay

This is our first year showing.  We jackpotted all last winter and will be taking a Market Steer and heifer to Tulsa.  What are the tip, tricks, and things I need to take to make the week easier.  This will be our "showcation" since we farm and have cattle it's hard to get away from the farm. ...

    Obstacle course

I'm interested in setting up a Obstacle course at our County Fair in Sept.  The only info I've found is a video on Youtube.  As far as I understand it is a timed event and the course consists of the following:  loading and unloading from a trailer, entering a grooming chute, stepping over poles...

    Cool Room

a few more pics.  We are building our showbarn under a shed built off the side out our machine barn.  We had to run both electric and water.  We will be adding a feed room, 3 12x14 pens with a 100ft run off of each pen.  Each pen will have a drop down outlet for a fan.  Can't wait to be...

    Cool Room

Here's some pics of our cool room.  A/C people are coming monday to hook us up, lol.  We bought  a walk in cooler from a grocery store that was moving for 850.00 and built a room that measures 18x11 on the inside after cooling unit and tie rails.  Here are some pics of the process

    Artic misters WON'T WORK!!!!

I was dissapointed in the quatility of the artic circle.  It only has three nozzles and they don't all point in the same direction.  One points back into the fan and you can't adjust them.  I'm having much better luck with the patio mister from TSC.  It's a single nozzle on tubing shaped like a...

    New Lawn Mower

Our steer is on a time schedule.  His.  He has gotten really bad about opening the stall doors when he "thinks" it;s time to come out.  New show barn and cool room will be ready by the 4th of July.  I hope my shrubs last that long, lol.

    Honda side by side

We have a 2007 Polaris Ranger 900 that is a complete JAPOC (Junky _SS Piece OF CRAP).  In addition to the extreme heat, ours acts like it's running out of gas all the time.  It just lunges and surges no matter what speed you are going.  We have had it in the shop 4 times.  It will run fine for...

    Cool Room Question

@Sambosu... did the individuals pour concrete footers to sit the cooler on?  We are trying to decide whether to just pour concrete or go the gravel route.

    Cool Room Question

We bought a walk in cooler from a grocery store and are setting it up for a cool room.  My question is, has anyone used a gravel pit as a base layer for drainage under the floor?  We are thinking we would dig a 2-3 foot pit, fill it with pea gravel, then put a deep layer of cedar fiber on that. ...

Our Eye Candy is a Yak.  I just AI'd a heatwave heifer to a black Galloway for just this reason.  Bone and hair, and a very good attitude.
