    Blow & Go Shows

+1 I took some time away from showing (10years) getting back at it and looking to knock off the rust. I agree as a kid it taught me a work ethic having a daily job to do to get that hair just right for show day. Full fit is just another tool in the box why not use it to do the best job possible.

    Bull Rental

I agree with nyk that the leases will need to carry full insurance on the bull. Especially in this current market where the bulls start at $4000 and quickly go up. In the case of juniors I would offer to bring their cow into our program to get covered free of charge.

    Looking for a quote...

Quite often you can check with local sale barns to get the numbers of haulers. Quite often here you can get really good quotes from a cattle liner as a back haul. Good luck

    Twins

In my experience once they have both had moms colostrum you can pick the smaller one or less wanted one off. Be sure to get colustrum in both though. The sooner you can get the extra calf on a bottle or nurse cow the easier it is to get them started. Good luck

    Show Cattle Temperament Concerns

I have never seen a young kid get turned off by showing a quiet calm calf but seen too many kids with a hot "good" calf that had no interest in getting another calf the next year. Docility is the most underrated trait IMO.

    Show Cattle Temperament Concerns

As both a feeding operation and cow calf guy temparment is huge. Docile cattle don't only make the job more enjoyable but they gain better in the feed pens when they don't run willy nilly every time you check pens. Over the years of feeding cattle Maine's and Short horns have consistently been...

Need calving ease bull for Monopoly, MAB, Monopoly Money, BIM daughters

I'm breeding 20hfrs this year using Jose and Daddy's Money. Considered Slider but wanted to stick with Maine influence . I also didn't have much clubby breeding in my hfrs. Slider looks like good option on clubby breds

    Dr. Who heifer

I have seen a number of Suh cattle in production here in Alberta. They have all been good sound functional cattle. Anchor C and Rusylvia have used him very successfully. So much so I bought some Suh semen and Suh influenced cows. My Suh calves this spring have impressed us.

    Calving Ease

Gigolo Joe is a safe choice for sure. Any of the I80 or Ali clan as well. Jose is another choice I've personally put a lot of stock and will be using on all my hefiers including the Galloway cross

    Easy feeder

A term referencing efficiency. Typically thought to be more moderate in frame with lots of body. Although with the right genetics you can get those easy keepers in a more powerful package. Some f1 exotic on British cattle can be very powerful and still easy feeding. I really like our commercial...

    Give me some bull suggestions

For keeping with the boring old black trend give Jose a try should power up a steer and have some replacement value if you get a hefier.

How to breed to get big soggy cows!!

Canadian bulls  ;) or breeding stock proven sires rather than terminal type show bulls. In my experience a bull that look bulls rather than steers make hfrs that grow into cows.
