Looking for some recommendations.  I'd prefer the bull be homozygous black,  purebred, decent EPD's.  To be used on 30 open heifers that are 3/4 sim 1/4 angus.  Want to produce functional calves that can either be kept as replacements or perform in the feedlot. Right now I'm considering TNT Ever...

I'm curious about this bull too.  Have to agree with the post on Goldmine.  Some of our best purebred cows are out of him but I AI'd a couple open commercial hfrs to him 2 yrs ago and was a little disappointed.

Thank you for the replies!  Sounds like Mo Better could be a good fit for some of our cows.

Cold weather isnt far away and sometimes my gloves, boots and coveralls just arent warm enough.  Any favorite brands of insulated boots, gloves and base layers that are worth the extra money? Especially anything thats easy to move in, not so bulky.

Looking for more info on these black white faced simmental bulls.  They are full brothers but in my opinion Motown has the better EPD profile, although it seems like Mo Better is more popular.  Im wondering about calving ease, how well calves grow and what kind of cow they work best on?  Also...

The sim calving ease numbers dropped because they are sharing epd's with red angus.  Notice how much the WW and YW went up.  I think its simply that simmental's are on average larger then red angus and thats what the numbers are reflecting.

Can I add another question to this thread,  are heifers more tender then steers?  Was recently told this by our auctioneer

Where can you learn to preg check?  Is it worth learning to do yourself or better to keep the vet doing it?

I would be thrilled to get a red white face out of Bulit Right!  The market in this area favors black cattle but I have a soft spot for good red cows.

Another thing I've heard about Dream Catcher is the tailhead sits high and fat butt can make the rear legs too straight.

Who is your favorite black baldy simmy bull and why?  I see lots of positive comnents on here for Rendition and Blazin Hot. 

We tag each calf the same number as their dam.  Each year we use differant color tags so its easy to tell cow family by number and age by tag color.  We have commercial and purebred cattle, this keeps things pretty simple.

We also watch breeders world and caldwell willoughby.  EDJE is good too, esp when I'm looking for purebred sales.

We have 3 bulls calves from Club King. Did not have any calving difficulties, they were all in the uppers 80's for weight.  Weren't much to look at in the beginning but are coming on nicely with age and are by far the best growing calves.  We choose to AI some Club King because of his offspring...

They are from top to bottom...PB simm bull by Club King,  1/2 maine heifer by Chill Factor,  PB simm heifer by Goldmine and 1/2 Simm bull by Goldmine out of a Vegas cow.
