There have been some pretty good calves out of Jesse James this year and I hope to see some at the Ohio Beef Expo. But some of these heifers this year are just relly light boned that need some improved frame and add as much power as possible without losing calving ease...if that makes much...
Thanks but if hes producing 50lb light boned calves, I doubt they amount to much.. Will they ever get a decent size and if they aren't good enough to show will they get big in a feed lot fast like all of the others?? I am still very unsure about this bull.. What do you guys think about Breathe...
I've never really looked at Tiny Tim but I will think about him he seems to be a pretty good bull.. I will find some pictures of our heifers now.. congrats on those beautful calves and thanks guys for all of your help!
I need some bulls that have calving ease without giving up on having great calves... what do you guys think is the better bull? Jesse James or I80? do you guys have any suggestions on these bulls or others? I would also like a couple bulls with some color.... can you guys post some pictures of...
When we bought rice root brushes they had one with really really hard bristles and one with softer ones... she said the one with the softer bristles would work better.
if he's a good bull use him, and color is getting more popular too! I don't let color get in my way of choosing a good calf and sometimes you just need a bull with such neat markings to POP!!! (pop) (pop) <party> (thumbsup)
the rice root bush looks like it has thick bristles, we use the ones that have to softest, finest bristles..the blue and red pig brush might work pretty good! (lol)
when we use shaving cream it has never caused the hair to fall out. sometimes it was in for 3-4 hours and sometimes10-12..... Other people use shaving cream as well and it doesnt cause hair to fall out... maybe the temperature, thickness of hair, amount used, how it is applied, and other...
Sand. Animals can get stiff on concrete, especially hogs. If it gets wet they can slip and fall hard. Accidents happen, we have had hogs get Hurt on concrete, we learnt the lesson, don't risk it.
Wow, thanks for the help we also wash the calves then but some barbasol shaving cream in their hair then but them in a fairly large pen then the next day we brush them out, rinse them, then put more shaving cream in, after about a week you can feel the fair already thicker and more beautifuller. Haha
I have been wondering what you guys do to promote hair growth. I use a rice root brush for grooming and on warm days I rinse then down.. Do you guys do anything different.??Thanks! <beer>
