    Selling cattle on here

Unfortunately, there are folks in the cattle business who misrepresent what they are peddling.  Since you are still looking for a calf, why don't you place a classified ad on this board and see what happens.  Ask for a video of any calves you like before making a trip to see them.  Photos alone...

Has anyone seen any MAB x PB Charolais calves?

Yes, that calf is looking good!  Where are you getting $1,200 cows that can produce like that??? LOL

PINK NOSE?CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS COLOR EXPLANATION PLEASE

If you want smoke colored calves out of those black cows every time then you should use a bull with a pink nose.  It can be a purebred Char or a Char cross but the nose needs to be pink.  If you use a smoke bull with a dark gray nose then you will get both smokes and blacks out of the mating...

Has anyone seen any MAB x PB Charolais calves?

I am finally getting round to posting these photos of the MAB bull calf (August born) I had out of my purebred Firewater cow.  I think he is very complete.  I bred her back the same way last week.

Where does all the money come from?

Sometimes it is just hype or smoke and mirrors (I'll trade you my $20,000 bull for your $20,000 cow).  That said, there are lots of successful professionals, businessmen and, yes, mineral rights owners, too, who would rather spend their soon to be taxed wealth on good cattle than send a big...

Show Steer Very Sick, While Waiting On Lab Work, I'm Looking For Advice

"The bacterial infection diamonddls mentioned caught my attention because steer was fed more feed than normal the night before he started showing all these problems." The "Fed more feed than normal" part of your statement makes me suspect acidosis.  If that is the case, the best thing to do is...

    Rat Tails...

This is a very good description of the "rat tail syndrome" expect where you say "ALL smokes are rat tails." Are you sure about that?  Did you mean "ALL rat tails are smokes?" I have some smokes in my herd that are definitely NOT rat tails.

    solid gold

Appears to have some power and a lot of body.  Will she be shown as a market heifer or breeding heifer?

    Udderly Important!

Some say milk and good udders aren't important if you are raising show steers.  I have seen it stated from one very prominent steer guru that "it is not what they raise but what they produce that is most important."  I assume that by "produce" he meant the quality steers that are produced...

    Gooseneck trailers

Yes, I pull my 16 ft gooseneck trailer with my Tundra Pickup.  I also pull my 32 ft hay trailer with it from time to time but kept my 2001 Dodge Ram for backup. The Tundra will pull a house down the road but bankrupt you on gas! lol.  Still, the price difference between another Dodge Ram diesel...

    solid gold

Take a look at Smokin Joe, a smoky bull from Glover.  He is double clean.  I have seen some good calves out of him and plan to use him on some heifers and a couple of dirty cows.

    solid gold

The ones I have had have come easy out of cows but can be on the large side. I wouldn't use Solid Gold on Heifers.  Definitely not a heifer bull.

Fat Butt or Cerveza or WMW on pb angus

One of my best young cows is a WMW out of an OCC Emblazon cow.  I think that cross would make a good female to raise steers.

    Unstoppable birth weights

I have had several Unstoppables out of cows and they come easy and weigh 80-90 lbs.  I really like this bull but use him on something sharp fronted.  He should work on your shorthorn cow.

    Vaginal Prolapse?

I had the same exact thing happen a few years ago and it turned out fine.  I bought a pregnant recip with one of my eggs in her.  The baby came okay and she raised him just fine.  Needless to say, I sold her after the calf was weaned. Good luck!

Walks Alone and Believe in Me calf temperament

I have had over 30 Walks Alone calves over the past couple of years and most have been just fine temperament wise.  Out of the bunch, I have had one steer calf and one heifer calf that were excitable to the point of not being much fun to have around.  On the other end, I have had several that...

    New shower/calf

If your heifer is not quite ready to show don't get discouraged.  Load her up anyway and take her to the show, tie her to the trailer and let her get used to folks and strange things.  Groom her, feed her but maybe save the real showing for the next time.  Better safe that hurt.  Good luck.

    Water trough valves.

This is the model I have in operation--trouble free for four years. http://www.jobevalves.com/uploads/86738/files/Megaflow_product_info_sheets.pdf

    Water trough valves.

Yes, I have several tanks with jobe valves and they work great.  I have had trouble with high water pressure from time to time and the jobe valves can handle it.

    MAB

I have used MAB a lot after seeing some of his calves at Marsh Cattle Company last fall. They were flush calves out of a shorthorn donor and they were very sound and very consistent. I noticed several of the same calves this afternoon on a Breeders World sale the Marshes are having next Tuesday...
