Has anyone seen any MAB x PB Charolais calves?

I, too, think that MAB will work on PB Charolais. I have a Firewater cow bred to MAB that is due in August with a bull calf. Hoping it works.

    American Steer - classify

He has the sheath to class American.  Can't tell anything about his ears from your photo.  Please post a front view of his head showing ears clearly.

    Charolais Bull.... your thoughts please

I like your bull.  One of my best cows is a Yellow Jacket  X Maine/Angus cow that has plenty of flank.  I think it depends on what you use him on.

    MAB or Unstoppable

I have had very limited use of Unstoppable but the calves are so sound and gentle.  He seems to add some body too. I will have about 10 MAB calves this fall and hope they are as good as the ones I have seen.  I don't think you can go wrong with either bull.

    Charolais cows

I like Unstopable on Charolais cows.  He makes them moderate, sound and very gentle.  I am trying MAB the same was as Freddy suggests.  Also, Monopoly should work as well.

How much should I sell this bull for?

I doubt there would much demand for a 5 1/2 year old bull unless the bull has produced exceptional progeny.  If bull has sired some nice calves, take pictures and use them when you advertise your bull.  The packer prices have been so strong for bulls that it wouldn't make sense to sell a...

    Rolls VS Bales

Big round bales are almost always cheaper than small square bales of equal quality.  I would suggest buying a good quality large round bale and placing it on a couple of wooden pallets.  Then cover it with an inexpensive plastic tarp to keep it dry.  You can weight the corners down with bricks...

    Accuracy of TH test

You can usually tell by looking if the are a TH carrier.  I wonder if any of them appeared to be carriers and that is why you are worried about the tests being incorrect?  Otherwise, the chances that the test were incorrect are very slim and nothing to worry about unless you get a carrier calf...

    Old Cows

I think Man Among Boys would work since you want some chrome.

Favorite bull to pretty up/extend a front end? / I80 calves (pictures)

I have used Walks Alone of SimAngus cows with mostly good results.  He really cleans up front ends if that is what you are trying to do.

    Heifers for reciepts

They settle better that than cows, but milk less and have dystosia more often.  Unless they are maternally bred and the eggs going in are calving ease, I would stick with mature cows for recips.

    Non DVM pregnancy compensation

I'm in Texas and I pay a non-vet technician to ultrasound my cows. He can also palpate. Legality is not an issue.

Has Anyone Used Texas Trophy Hunter?

He appears to have hair as a calf in this ad. Calves out of him have been hairy. Would have shaved the red one but it was born early in the pasture. Here is one out of a PB Simmi that had tons of hair before being clipped.

Has Anyone Used Texas Trophy Hunter?

I have had a few calves out of Texas Trophy Hunter and wondered if any other SP members tried this bull.  Here is a photo of the most recent one out of a Who Made Who second calf heifer. They are vigorous at birth and seem to handle our Texas heat better than most.

    Go Bob Bale Feeders

These hay feeders look like they are well made and welded--not bolted up.  Can't tell from the website--does anyone know where Go Bob is located?  How much do the feeders cost?

    Heifer went CRAZY

A fall born heifer would be a pretty tough project for an 11 year old to break since it sounds like she is only green broke.  Your son needs some strong adult help for this project to work.  Otherwise, he may become intimidated by the heifer and give up or, worse yet, hurt.  A donkey may help if...

    wild heifer

Expose her to as many new and different situations as you can.  Have neighbors and frends stop by and walk calmly through the pen.  Wear different kinds of hats. Expose her to lot of different sounds as has already been suggested.  Haul her to a few jackpot shows even if you leave her tied to...

    Debit/Credit card warning

Unless something has changed, there is a $50 limit of liability with a stolen/fraudulent credit card once the bank has been notified.  Their is no limit when it comes to debit cards so you should never use a debit card to order online.

    Open Cows/Hefiers

There are so many variables when it comes to an AI program--genetics, nutrition, health, weather, semen quality, semen handling, heat detection and semen placement.  If you get one of them wrong, then you are in for trouble.  I would start by having your Vet do a quality check on the semen you...
