    The cow is still down, they say she has some paralysis from calving. The calf is very energetic, trying to run around, suck on everything, head butt, etc...

    Yeah, I actually remembered the camera. It was the first one we've had done. She was pretty exhausted and if they did it with her standing, she would have to stay standing.  So they just layed her on her side and tied her feet and head so she couldn't kick or fight.

    We had a cow that had to have a C-Section on Friday. It was a first calf heifer that wasn't supposed to be bred yet. The calf is a heifer, about 90 pounds. The cow still isn't up yet, and doesn't have much  milk, so we're bottle feeding the calf. Here's some pictures:

    We are in NW Oregon. I am not sure about them being one of the oldest breeds. They were first being developed in 500 A.D and later in history got there present form and color. Pinzgauers first appeared in documents in the 1600's.

    She is a Pinzgauer, so the white stripe is normal.

    I am new here and was wondering what other people thought of my new heifer. I bought her in September and the pictures were also taken in September. She was born November 20, 2007.

    I am from NW Oregon. We raise some commercial cattle for beef and also purebred Pinzgauers. We show the Pinzgauers.
