As an outsider looking in I would have to say Santa Gertrudis cattle have the least amount of politics if any at all.  The better ones will always win! Never seen a major champion win because of politics at all in the gert breed. This coming from my future in-laws being gert breeders.

Depends on what you are looking for.  I would be careful on purchasing an ARB due to the fact you cannot show at all the majors. (People can correct me if I'm wrong). I would look at purchasing a true american breed and try and stay away from ABC or ARB if you are wanting to show at all the majors.

outlawcattle-  there are good cattle in all breeds, how come some of the highest selling bulls in the Charolais breed have sold for $32,000 plus and they have nothing to do with the showring.  Just sound, market appealing genetics with information to back them up (EPDs).  Not knocking on gerts...

My picture taking skills arent the best.  Plus it was on a cell phone.  Would like to hear more comments on this calf, what would you change about him or you do not like about him? No hard feelings!

No that is not sheath, just hair.  He is out of Lifeline x Char/Maine cow.  No way he would classify as an American.

Born early August. The cow he is out of is very nice, we showed her back in 05 and had alot of success with her.  Have several more calves on the ground; WMW, Unforgiven, Eyes on the Money, NLC Upgrade, DSUL Upgrade, Lifeline, and Milkman.

Here is a bull calf that was born early August.  He is out of Lifeline and a Lehman Charolais Composite cow (LC Suspect 0109 x Maine).  Really starting to come on and will be interesting to see how he turns out. Please leave your opinions on the calf.  Will be for sale!!

price and location please, he looks good! I think he could do some damage.
