Our county fair has what they call "Baby Beef".  it is a male calf born that year.  Also there is a "Bucket Calf" class it can be either sex but has to have been raise only from a bucket or bottle. It give the you a chance to get next year calves a early start on breaking them.

We used Wave on Wave on a Dream On daughter last year got a heifer was wanting a steer. Couple of pictures of her on a post called Wave on Wave heifers. if you do the search for her she is the solid black one we kept her and are going to breed her to Money Man in about a month.

Are heat wave daughters that bad.  I know i have seen where they have been used as cow in the past.  I understand that they may not be the best moms.
