    Steer being fidgety with feed!

Have you been feeding the two together?  If so, try tying them up side by side with just enough slack that they can eat comfortably but can't reach each others feed.  I have found that competition is the best way to get i picky one to eat.  Also keep him away from hay until he eats his feed.  If...

Steers for sale - Who Made Who and Heat Wave son

Tag 47 is a mid March Who Made Who x Armageddon steer weighing around 700.  This calf is big topped, thick ended, and smooth through his shoulder.  He is built great from the ground up with plenty of foot and bone.  Really sound and great haired.  Priced at $3000.  My cousin will be showing this...

    cooler

A lot of it depends on how many head you want to keep in the room and how big the calves are. Fat steers create a lot more heat than young calves. If you keep several fat steers in there you will probably be looking at using multiple compressors and units to keep it cold enough.

    guyer sale

Gettin one on full feed will add a lot of mass and bloom to a young one in a hurry. But the real kicker in the deal is dropping temps and bein under fans all day. Hair will add a lot of "mass" to one too! Great set of cattle and a great sale for the Guyer crew. They get it right year in and year...

What Breed Makes the best Beef?

Honestly some of the best beef i've eaten has been from a holstein. But i think the key to good beef that too many people don't understand is that regardless of breed, color, or anything else is feeding one long enough to get em fat! Flavor comes from fat and cattle that haven't been fed long...

Anybody on here burned by Eastern Livestock Mess or Have Friends that Were?

This is a huge deal in my part of the world, being only about an hour from their headquarters.  My dad and I have always been on the buying end of dealing with Eastern and built a really strong working relationship with them over the last 10 years.  I don't personally know anyone who didn't get...

    Any Hoosier Beef Congress Reults?

Chamberlin's black and white heifer was a maintainer.  Overall quality in the grand drive was awesome. The chi looked better in person than the picture, and the hereford was a truly impressive beast- huge middled, massive and sound (i really thought she would grab 3rd pretty handily). There were...

    drought

Awful dry in southern Indiana.  My dad said he can't remember it ever being this dry.  Not feedin hay to cows yet, thanks to plenty of pasture ground, but i sure wish we'd get a good soaker.  Lot of wheat, barley, and rye planted that could use a drink to get started.
