I tried ordering I-80 through ABS and my dealer said they didn't have any because ABS tested the semen and it showed that I80 has lepto they sent all of there semen back to the Lautner's.  Be prepared to Spirovac all of your cows if you have I80 calves is what I was told by my vet.

Just started to raise some simmentals and was wondering at what point have you found that the milk epd turns a cow from easy keeping to harder doing.  In angus we found it to be around 20 to 22, anything higher the cattle weren't easy keeping anymore.  What is the tipping point in simmentals?

we had a 5 year old calve to Hannibal and it was her biggest calf about 90# heifer.  She had an 80# hairy bull calf and a 75# Qdog bull before that.  I also have a buddy that had two calves last year both of them were 90-95#, but his BW epds put him at +5 for Chi's.

Anyone have any calves out of him.  Is he calving ease? I have a halfblood grizzly that I am thinking about breeding him to.  The EPDs say he is calving ease, but it can all change once that first crop hits the ground.

Make sure it is cold.  My uncle did this once with holstein heifers and lost three to lysteria.  I am with everyone else only get what you can feed in less than a week.

Is it just me or are people crazy for paying more than retail price on semen that is readily available?  I have noticed the last few sales Lautner has had that people are doing it.  I could understand rare and sexed semen, but monopoly bringing more than the $40 he was selling at and I-80...

I miss all the comments from Kroupa, that is half the reason why I look at the catalog.  Otherwise there are some good ones and I like some of the pregnancies.
