    Smokies - Experiment

I think that they won't be the 'fancy' type of smokies. I've done angus and charolais, not on purpose, the bull jumped the fence, but they come off as a gray-white color. We called him Rocky because i mistaked him for a rock. But if you used a limo, i think it might come out differently.

    Birds in my barn

I recomend putting up tinfoil, cut it in strips and put it where there is a lot of bird poo,the foil scares them, we put some over the showbox because they kept pooing everwhere.Hang it from the ceiling/rafters. i've never tried putting it in a doorway but i assume it would work. Or get a bird dog.

Genetics the good the bad and the ugly...

I recently bred my charolais heifer to a TH carrier bull. I was wondering if she has a heifer, how much does it cost to get them tested to see if they are a carrier?

    Genetic Diseases

I've been noticing all these genetic disease and i know that there is TH and Curly calf and all these other things, but i was wondering a bit about diseases linked mainly or only to Charolais because i haven't found any and i was wondering if they are a 'clean' breed (for want of a better word)

    Beet Pulp Usage

Agree with the beet pulp. I wouldn't start them on it until they need a replacement for grain, like if you were holding their weightl. Careful with the winning fill though, i love the product, but don't give them too much or they will get the shoots, not fun on show day, i know that from...

MY MARKET STEER ( UDATED PHOTOS)-(UPATED PHOTOS 2)

Purple shampoo and stainbuster becomes ones friend. I showed a charolais steer, lots of scrubbing, but the stains came out. Shorthorn hair is funny, it likes to trap the stains in. Especially the knees, back legs and their front pits (their hooves leave dirt here).

    Glucoat Information

I've used the stuff. it really  helped with their appeitite. I started out with the stuff, giving them a little bit and increased it. Start to finish it worked well, the cattle like the taste. But on a personal note, if you are going to mix it into the feed, i recomend buying a rubber glove, the...
