can Jesse James calves be registered off a commercial heifer, if that's what the heifers are?

This is our I-80 x Monopoly heifer calf born 3/8/13 79# unassisted to a clean monopoly x angus 2nd calf. Also have a first calf Heatwave x Angus due in a month so we'll test out the calving ease issue, I'll keep you all posted.

subsidies may be needed by some but the truth these days is that  90% of all subsidies go to 10% of all farmers and those are NOT the 10% that need it. The system needs to be fixed to kick out the ones that don't need it.

my son and daughter are starting to get some show heifers along with their steers and i was wondering if everyone feeds them the same ration as the show steers until they reach desired condition or if you have different mixes for both.

I'll be finding out in March what I-80 will throw. My son has his very broody monopoly x angus cow (tested TH & PHA free) bred to him for her second calf. She had a bull calf out of Smokin' Joe this spring that was 75lbs BW and is growing like mad.

At our county fair (in Wisconsin) the dairy steers have their own champion and that steer can come back with the class winners from the crossbreds (all beef breeds compete as crossbreds due to low numbers) to compete for overall champion, I've never seen the dairy steer picked over a beef...

My 12 year old son is showing his steer and heifer there.

Then I would say she is milking just fine, whenever the calf is hungry there is plenty of milk for him.

I'll try to get an udder pic posted tonight, maybe someone on here can help me tell how she's milking, it's hard to tell when all you have ever had with calves are Holstiens.

I'm not sure how to tell how much she's giving, being this is our first beef calf born on the farm, but the calf seems content and from what I've felt of her udder it seems good.

Our Monopoly X Angus first calf heifer had her Smokin' Joe bull calf was born on Feb. 29th BW #75 easy pull. The boy named him Leap.
