    jakes proud jazz heifers

Nice pictures Knabe.  Mootharts in Iowa had a white JPZ heifer at the Iowa State Fair open show last week. I don't know what Glover's prefix is on their registrations, but the name started at as JG so I assume it was from Glovers. She was a September 06 heifer. She placed second or third in...

    Jakes Proud Jazz

DL,  I really liked the 2 JPZ  bull calves Tim Ohlde had for sale when I was there in April. Both of the bulls were deep bodied, sound and hairy.  The bull I was looking at had a 78 lb bw and the bull Tim was going to keep had an 88 lb bw.  The bull Tim was going to use on heifers did not semen...

I received mine last Friday and I am in Des Moines which 1 1/2 east of Omaha. I am not sure where it is mailed out from. JIT, I agree with you on the postal system.  Like I told you over phone, I sent you a package with a first class stamp which cost me 69 cents. The post office guaranteed...

    NAME THE BULL!

OH Breeder, You are right (clapping)  Found a picture of him in the 81' or 82' Shorthorn Journal. A breeder in western Iowa advertised him as his Jr Herdsire. This is the only picture of him I have ever run across.

    NAME THE BULL!

OH Breeder,  he has a very well known son.  The bull was most likely not known name until his son was born a decade later

    Kinnaber Leader 5th- SH friends

Great information JIT, you are a wealth of knowledge and appreciate all your information.  OH Breeder, you may also want to talk to Elbee as he has a Diamond Leggs 21 son that he bought from Darlene Bloomquist of Dar Lee's Shorthorn. His name is Mobutta and I was able to see him in the pasture...

OH Breeder  I have a picture of Kinnebar Leader 9th and some other older bulls I found in an old Shorthorn Herdsire issue from 1981.  I will try to scan and post to this message.  I am in Washington DC on vacation this week so I will try to get that done this coming weekend.

    NAME THE BULL!

Knabe,  monkey mouth must be one of the defects Tim Ohlde was referring to when I talked to him about the Maine Anjou breed.  He told me that he did line breeding of some Maines when they first imported them and had several defects show up. He said the Maine's immune system was the worst among...

OCC/Vogler Bulls- from our Roving Reporter!

I picked up some semen at Voglers on Missing Link and also picked some Jake's Proud Leader, the sire of Proud Jazz.  I really liked Missing Link. Tim is very high on Headliner who is in South America. Tim had a semen book from a stud in Argentina that had Headliners picture in it. If you go to...

    AI bulls

OH Breeder, the picture obviously doesn't do Friction justice.  He is very thick and much more moderate framed than Sunseeker.

I made over to Voglers Semen Centre last Friday. Mostly had Ohlde Angus bulls there. Dad Gum was being collected and that was the only other bull I recognized the name of. Legend, Emblazon, Homer and Missing Link were being collected as well as about 5 other Ohlde bulls. I have some pictures. If...

    AI bulls

genes and cb3, you are right about Hired Man. I did take a picture on purpose at that angle so you could see just how massive his shoulders are. I thought he was really big shouldered at the IA Beef Expo, but he had all the hair and was clipped just right to down play his shoulders. He was the...

    Low birth weight Angus bulls

I agree with CB3 and Red's  comments on the OCC bulls. The picture in my profile is my 3 year Angus II  Legend son that was out of a OCC Joker cow. His calves have come small and I couldn't be happier with them. My maine heifers all had no problems and the calves were in the mid 70 range. My...
