    AI bulls

You are right DL, the internet has changed all things!  Hopefully the pictures won't offend anyone. The bulls are their in the working clothes for everyone to see. I was very impressed with Ali. The mature photo they are running in ads now is exactly what you see. Sunseeker was pretty...

    AI bulls

Thanks Red for posting them.  My thought is the bulls are there for visitors to see in the flesh. You get to see what they truly look like with out the fluff and in their working clothes. The proof is in their progeny, not how they looked when I took a picture.

Chambero, they probably don't want any pictures taken, but there were no signs saying that you couldn't and no one was around so I took advantage of it and snapped a few.

    AI bulls

drl,  Hawkeye is open M-F 8 to 5 and visitors are welcome anytime.  They have the bulls in 2 barns and you can walk through and look on your own.    It is nice to see them in their "plain" clothes without all the hair and fluff.  I was impressed with Sunseeker and Friction, both have a...

    AI bulls

Red, I made it out to Hawkeye Breeders on Friday.  They were collecting mostly club calf bulls.  They had the following Maines: Ali, Hard Core, Reality Red and Bourbon Street.  Shorthorns: Polar Express and Wind Ridge Leggs.  Club Calf: Heat Wave, Sugar Daddy, Friction, Monopoly, Blue Blood...

    DOUBLE GENETIC WHAMMY?

Posted by: ELBEE  Insert Quote Reminds me of when Warhorse was stalled next to Gizmo at Voglers. He  Elbee, what do you think of the new shorty that Greg is promoting out of Gizmo? Was in his shorthorn ad in the last Show Circuit, called Expo?

    DOUBLE GENETIC WHAMMY?

Thanks Red for confirming the identity of DL!    Elbee, you are right about the judges. Stocking picking the freaks and the steer jocks and clubby breeders will have to change.    Elbee I will give you my honest opinion of the new Leggs bull and even bring a picture if your lucky.    Red, I...

    DOUBLE GENETIC WHAMMY?

DL, since I am new on this site, not sure of your "real" name, but did you happen to write the article for the Voice awhile back?  If so great article. Love the Maine cattle and you have a great website and nice cattle.  I grew up showing with the Bogaards, DeHaans, Van Vliets and Cores.  They...

    DOUBLE GENETIC WHAMMY?

Wow, what a mess!  We all need to do our part and not breed to these defective animals. If we could get the clubby guys to stop promoting these positive bulls, we would take a huge step in the right direction, but that is never going to happen anytime soon.  I live in Des Moines and I am about a...

I'm about to build an ark!

justme, I am in Des Moines and the farm is 25 SE of here and we had 2.3 inches Saturday night and Sunday and it is raining again right now. We had  3 inches last week. It was just starting to dry up. We can't get in the fields and they are calling for rain through Wednesday.  Will not complain...

Elbee if the picture above is an indication of what your cattle resemble, it will be a fun trip for me!

    Jakes Pride? SEK

Stick,  I am not completely familiar with all the bulls that Tim helped import. He did tell me that he personally was in Ireland and saw Dividend as a 2 month old calf and bought him at that time to be imported.  Alden's bought him after he had been imported.  Elbee might be a good source on...

    Jakes Pride? SEK

aj, you are right. The post was about Deerpark Dividend. Tim did buy him at 2 months of age and then had him imported.  If you ever have a chance to go and see Tim's cattle, you will be amazed at how uniform those Angus and Angus II cattle are. I was blown away at the how good his cattle are. He...

    Jakes Proud Jazz

Tim told me that he personally has not had him tested. He did say that Jazz had been TH tested free, but  had not had a  PHA  test done to his knowledge.  He said he had never had any TH or PHA calves from either Jake's  Proud Leader, Jake's Pride or Jake's Proud Jazz. He has been line breeding...

    Jakes Pride? SEK

Elbee, I may just try to do that. I come down through Lincoln to Marysville and then over to Palmer.  I only live about 10 miles north of Shultz's who bred Irish Pride and I think sold Improver 3rd to your family. Is that right?

    Jakes Pride? SEK

I only took video of the bull and 3 other Jazz sons he had for sale. It was also rainy and cold that day and  cattle probably couldn't look anyworse than when they are all hunched up and wet.  I am going back down to pick him up in 2 weeks and will take my camera. I will get a picture of him and...
