    ABS Simmentals

I personally think that some of the macho calves are to high flanked, and the ranch hand calves don't have enough depth.  Anyone seeing the same thing.  It might just be the match up I'm seeing.

    ABS Simmentals

I have alot of dream on daughters already.  I'm not a fan of macho.  However I have to say I haven't used ranch hand.  I was worried about his females striding he looks pretty straight to me.

    Remmington Red Label ?

Thanks for the ideas.  We were going to use him on a couple of angus commerical cows that need more thickness.  What's he to to the front ends?  These angus cows of ours have great front ends and are clean.

    ABS Simmentals

We were looking for some Simmy bull from ABS too.  We wanted to support are local rep, but ABS is a little weak on Simmy bulls for what we wanted.  We were looking for bull for femals not club calves.  We went with Explorer, Trademark, and Remmington Red Label for Genex.

Nice Heifer.  Looks like she's going to have some volume to her.  Post her again at weaning.

    opinons on steer

Not a bad steer! What are your goals for him? That's question is key.  He would ok for our county fair.  I would be worried with that front end.  From the picture he does look very straight. VC is right that front end will only get worse the heaiver he gets.  I like a little for flank in a calf...

Heifers....what is the ideal age to show?

I'm assuming your local shows will be this summer.  You can show what ever age you want.  You should have a heifer weaned and started on feed good before show time.  I'd say for you a fall 09 heifer would be the best because it wouldn't be too big for your child.  I have a 10 yr old, and we...

    New 2010 Calves

You are correct that they are not for the clubby world.  Our goal is for simmi breeding stock, and for some nice show heifers for the kids.  We just got started a few years ago for the kids.  I had cattle (maine's) as a kid, and we've started all over for our kids.  The end results is to have...
