I think you guys are talking about a few different things here.  Some of you are talking about boots on the actual fence post and others are talking about a pair of shoes/boots with the laces tied together and wrapped around a wire.  From what I hear, the latter of which is a symbol of territory...

I think I saw on Matt Lautner's site that they would buy back any Bleeding Purple semen.  That might be a place to start!

We try to do it whenever time permits.  I think it really pulls together the whole "look" of the animal, if done right.  As Jill said, it looks much better and more natural if done in the shape of a teardrop.  Good luck at your county fair!!

What are his preferences?  Why type of cattle does he like?

You might want to look into using some DMSO to rub on the joints.

I forgot to mention that he was a member of the champion cow/calf at the MN state fair and the junior angus field day.  Along with that, we was Reserve Champion bull at the field day (he got beat by a two year old).

I saw Highliner in Denver.  He is out of Headliner who is a full brother to Monopoly and All Aboard.  I thought there was a lot of good in the Highliner bull. The bull was hairy, thick enough, and had a ton of rib.  He was definately not the biggest butted or the hairiest but he was complete...

I saw this bull todayand let me tell you, he looks good!  He will make someone a good herd sire.

From what I have seen Dream On doesn't add bone, but he sure makes them broody and durable.  This heifer is out of a really big footed big boned cow so I think she has plenty of bone.
