    steer age?

If you are looking to show a steer as a finished or close to finished calf in January or February how old should they be at that time. Our county show falls in this time frame so I was wandering when they should be born to be shown January or February of 2011.

    calving question

Thanks for all of the comments. Luckily the worst of the weather passed by yesterday and she had the calf this morning. It was still cold to get out in for my liking but not too much danger for the calf. Again thank you for your help.

    Rendition?

The baldy Rendition is the one in question. Sorry I should have been more detailed. I appreciate the recommendations and I am always open to others. If other breeds would improve the heifer above I am open to them too.

    Calf temperment?

I am glad to see these comments. I have a cow that had a bull that was never worked with just fed from a bucket that you can sit on. His half brother, (a different sire), is not wild but is skiddish. You can occasionally put his shoulder if you have feed but that is it.

    Calf temperment?

Is the temperament of a calf more likely to be influenced by the sire or the dam? Or is it an even mix from both? I know that other factors can play a role but I know genetics play a big role as well.

    Rendition?

Any Simmental suggestions to cross her with? Having the possibility of blaze or bald face is a plus not a must though.

    calving question

I have a cow due to calve anytime, she has loosened in the back end and has had a mucus discharge. Is there any basic guidelines as to how far from calving she might be? It is supposed to be very cold tonight and the next few days and I did not know if I should put her in the barn or not worry yet.

    Rendition?

Is the simmental bull Rendition safe for angus heifers? I have also attached a picture of the heifer in question. The picture is not to good it had just rained, sorry. Does anyone think that he would help improve her offspring? Thanks for any help.

    Sire suggestions?

I have a Angus cow and an Angus heifer that I am going to be a.i.ing soon. The cow needs maternal improvement and her legs are fairly slender. She has produced two nice bulls from a limmi sire. The heifer is taller and longer bodied she also could use maternal improvement as well as some...
