How manyConsecutive times can you Flush

I've always been told that 3 or 4 times is acceptable, if not over-stimulating.

    A step up calves

We only had one ET born this year.  He's a good one.  If they all have his front, hip and rear leg, I'll like them.

    Large Clippers

I'm sure I'm considered old school, but I've clipped hundreds and hundreds of heads with Stewart Oster sheepheads.  Still work fine for me,

    I80xDream On Heifer

We have an I-80 fall yearling bull out of a Dream On donor that is awesome too.  In fact, just last night I was thinking that it might be a good plan to flush her that way...wondering how the females would look.  Might be one of those so called "genetic clicks"....

    Galant Semen

Great posts, guys.  Appreciate you sharing all of this information.  Very interesting. My experience with the Simmental breed started several years later...I'm more of the Achilles Superstar, CPS, Highwayman, Pineview Jazz, RBR Papillion, etc. generation, though we had a bunch of Signal cows...

day 25 after AI replacement Heifer in standing heat.

We've had all kinds of odd heats this year....back in at 16 days; back in at 25 days....had one recently bred one night; standing again 24 hours later... Good luck...

    Costs of certain vet charges???

All interesting comments, folks.  I support our local vets 100% and am very thankful that they are here.  Just hard for me to swallow certain charges, while others are maybe even too cheap in my eyes.  Another charge that always gets me is that I live about 1 mile out of town, 1.5 miles from...

    Costs of certain vet charges???

Thanks for the put... Just for information, I got charged $37.50 for a health paper the other day...which was hard to swallow. Trich tests $75 this year.

    Favorite Angus bull for heifers

I've always liked SAV Final Answer....and we've gotten along well with Conneally Thunder too.

    Costs of certain vet charges???

I'm curious what vets are charging around the country for certain fees...our charges have dramatically increased and want to see if we are just in line with the rest now, after an old vet retired.  I'd like to know costs of health papers for out of state shipping.  Simply a healthy paper with...

    Calving Ease Simmental Bull

I really like the ABS bull Beefmaker.  Knock that I've always heard is that they aren't pretty enough, but the calves we've had have been plenty stylish (and I'm picky)....he's also calved very well on heifers.

    American Pride

One American Pride calf on the place, out of Ebony's Joy.  Pretty good heifer overall...maybe a little down-headed.  No disposition issue at all.  Gonewest, she was a "1" at our place.... ;)!

Earliest to have a bull pass a semen test??

Through the years, we've had several bulls pass BSE's in the 10-10.5 months of age category.

    Liquid Nitrogen Tank Questions

Do some snooping....I'd sure think that you could find someone that runs a route and fills tanks.  There are probably 6 guys in my area that do routes. I agree, 9 cm's should be no issue...all should be fine still, but sure time to get it filled now.

    Et versus Invitro?

We've calved out a few IVF's; probably 20 plus now.  I can't really say I've seen a difference in BW's over the conventional ET's.  Had one last week and our embryologist was out the same day and he commented that the IVF's maybe don't have as much vigor at birth, but I've not noticed that...

    Bowl Game Thoughts....

For all the college football fans on here...Interested to hear any thoughts on the bowl season so far.  My take from the games so far: Of course the Nebraska game was the most interesting to me.  Two teams that were decimated by injuries battled.  Good, hard-fought game.  With a little luck...

Simmental bull on Commercial Angus Heifers

Remember, at least 2 of those bulls are ET's, so you can kinda throw out the actual birthweights.  Goldmine is a natural, and I'm not sure on Ranch Hand.  I know BR is an ET, and I'm thinking In Dew Time is too.  I guess I could look the others up, but didn't yet....
