    Wheat Germ

I've heard that it's really good for helping increase fertility in bulls, especially yearlings.  We've used it a lot for our bulls and have had good luck with it.

    Coughing Calf

Yeah, sure sounds like pneumonia to me.  Call the vet...those calves can't take much of that before it gets them.  Nuflor and Banamine should fix you right up.  Nuflor really takes care of that stuff...but it's pricey.

    Dry Shipper with Shipping Case

In general, is there a quality difference between Taylor Wharton and MVE tanks?  Or International Cryogenics?  Seems like everyone uses MVE, so just wondering what you all think.

    Recip contracts/programs

$1500, plus embryo costs, to "buy back" your own embryo calf?  How does anyone but the cooperator make any money with this scenario?  I've heard a number of scenarios dealing with cooperators, and many of them deal with paying the cooperator X cents over market for the weaned calf.  To me, that...

    cure for slipping halter?

I've seen a lot of people take a smaller size rope with a snap clip at the end and tie one side of it to the halter and run the clip end under their jaw and clip it to the other side of the halter (or if you don't have a clip, just tie it to the other side).  That should keep the halter on...

    warts on cattle

Sometimes they look like little eraser heads sticking out of the skin and sometimes they are big lumps of rough calloused-looking skin with no hair.  As long as they have the roughness on the outside and they are sticking out of the skin, it is likely a wart.  But, as always, if you have doubts...

    warts on cattle

The best thing we've found is to use a pair if fish-scalers.  You can buy them at Wal-Mart really cheap.  The sharp flat surface lets you clip the warts off as close to the skin as you can get so you don't leave any wart residue.  If the warts get very big, you can pull them, but they will bleed...

Has anyone used these guys before for embryo/recip work?  They came highly recommended, but just wanted to see if anyone else has used them in the past.  Thanks!

Need help to flush this cow.

I know this sounds like a broken record, but Wy Wind works really great on Eliminator daughters.  The other bull I wouldn't be afraid to use on her is RC Budsmydad since she's a very feminine female that is holding her structure at 12 yrs old.  However, semen on both of those bulls is going to...

    Charolais Flush Question

I would suggest LT Assertion or M6 Grid Maker.  I suppose it depends on what type of female you are looking for.  Grid Maker females have been doing a good job and it is still an outcross with your Cigar breeding.  If your cow is a little "iffy" on hip structure, then I would not use GridMaker...
