    Why does he do this??

For the past three weeks when ever I walk my steer he does this almost the whole time, does anyone know why they do this?? My past steers use to do it sometimes but not nearly as much as he does!

    How is he improving?

My show requires the chain halters. I don't tug on my animal with it at all, it doesn't hurt him. I break him with a rope halter and when he walks perfectly with me, I start to use the chain halter. I don't snap it on him or anything like a lot of the other exhibitors at my show do. I work hard...

    How is he improving?

I weighed him a week ago and he was 1024, and I feed him in total 24 pounds of feed a day. The people I  got him from told me every two weeks to add another pound to his feed since I only have 4 months left

    How is he improving?

Thank you, I really love the length on him as well. I've had a steer who was extremely long and tall and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the right amount of weight on him. But I feel this one I can because he isn't as tall. I'm going to start him on beet pulp this coming week. What...

    How is he improving?

I think I like his feet staggered as well, he seems bigger to me that way. I do use a rope halter on him, but I use this one when I practice setting him up. For our show we have to have a chain halter so I want to get him use to the feel and the sound. He walks perfectly with me so I don't...

    How is he improving?

The first picture is the day I got him, which was July 17th. He was born October 12th, 2012. And the second picture was him this morning. How do you think he is improving or what do you think still needs to be done?

    My steer as warts

So just cutting them off is good enough? Or should I still dry them out and put it in his feed?

    My steer as warts

Do you know about how much that is? So with that I don't even have to cut them off? It just heals it by itself?

    My steer as warts

I've treated previous steers with one or two small warts by cutting them off and drying them out for 3/4 days and then putting them in their feed. Recently my current steer has got 15+ BIG warts on his face. Very close to his right eye and above his nose and under his chin and he has two on his...

    Hair growing tips

Thank you very much! That helps a lot! I don't blow him every time, but I do most of the time. I show in March, do you think I should do it 2 or 3 times a day?

    Hair growing tips

My steer is  MaineXChi-maine, so he should be pretty fluffy, and he is somewhat. I rinse him every morning, and wash and blow dry him once a week, what else could I do to enhance his hair and make it more show worthy?

    Rolls VS Bales

I only have 4 months left with my last steer and he is the only one I have on my property. I am looking at hay to get him, I want something that will be the best for him, but also cheap. I've considered getting a role of hay, but is that too much? And will it rot before he can eat it all? I live...
