Yes, the Iowa Royal is the Shorthorn sale held during the Iowa Beef Expo.  It's on a Tuesday, Feb. 10th.  Not sure about the time but I think it's at 11:00.  I believe there is a parade on Monday at 1pm that will be live on the internet somewhere.  This is the first year we have consigned there...

We have Shorthorns!  My husband and I both grew up showing Shorthorns and now our kids love it as much as we do!  We weren't able to make it to Denver this year due to some health issues in the family but we usually hit most of the major shows.  We'll definitely be at Jr. Nationals this year...

We had a first calf Ali heifer last year that we bred to Hard Core.  She calved unassisted, low birth weight, and got a really nice steer.  I would sure be willing to try that combination again.

Neither one of them are too straight.  The roan is as sound as can be and moves out great.  I would not expect to ever have a problem with her soundness/mobility.  The white one has a shallow heel and maybe doesn't move quite as well but is adequate. 

They are both late Februarys.

I would say their bone is a little heavier than the average Shorthorn.  They definitely have enough to work in the show ring but not too much to be feminine. LSF

Yes, 3118 has really been producing well for us.  Last year at Polled Congress we sold another flushmate to these 2 heifers that was top selling female.  We also have a July flushmate that we are retaining to put back in the herd.  This summer we will be showing a ShorthornPlus bull, LSF Shazam...

This is the bull we are selling at the Iowa Royal.  He's by Red Vision and out of our donor, Highland Princess A950.  He is TH and PHA free, polled, birth weight of 82 lbs. He was born July of 2007.
