    Hooks Beacon?

On my radar for heifers is GLS Declaration (http://www.selectsiresbeef.com/index.php/bull-database-view-page?bid=428&breed=Simmental), and I have actually bred a few heifers to him for fall 18 calving, and will use him on some spring heifers when we breed those. I like his pedigree, and his...

    ACW Iron Hide

Thought I would update about my Iron Hide calves. We are pretty happy with them, for sure. They have great docility, and are big boned with plenty of power. Pictured is a 14 month old bull I have for sale. We showed him at state fair, where he was champion percentage in the junior show. He was...

    SSC Shell Shocked 44B

We had our first Shell Shocked this weekend. A little bull calf, 280 days gestation, 58 pounds. His dam is an Upgrade x Club King 2nd calf heifer. He is one of the smallest calves we have had! His face is very long, not sure where that comes from. Our next one is due in May. Another Upgrade...

Looking for info on Reproductive Management Assoc in Texas

That is the number I tried calling, and there is no answer. I will try to follow the other leads, thank you! These embryos were collected in 2015, so not too long ago.

Looking for info on Reproductive Management Assoc in Texas

So, I am looking for contact info on Reproductive Management Assoc. I have a number that was registered in the embryologist manual (not sure what it is called, but it lists all registered embryologists with location and phone number). I bought some embryos out of the Circle M dispersal sale, and...

Who's at Denver looking at Simmy cattle?

Nice purchase Buckeye! She comes from a top notch operation too. I visited Maple Leaf farms a few years ago, great place. What are your plans for her?

    brucellosis vaccine

I'm reviving this thread. I had a customer call me last night, seems he took a group of cattle to the vet to be vaccinated. Said vet accidentally vaccinated his best bull calf (March born, so 9 months) with brucellosis. THEN, he castrated him! Said customer was not there, his father took the...

    Simm bull 1143Y

Anyone use him? He is a full brother to Loaded Up, carried by Genex http://genex.crinet.com/beef/index.php?action=DETAIL&code=1SM00164&lang=EN He had a really nice red, white faced heifer sell in a sale here recently, she went for a lot of money ($12,500)! We bred a few to him this fall, for...

Anyone heard of Mohnen Load Up?

My Select Sires guy stopped in today to drop off some semen, gave me the new book. There is a bull in there that I would like to find out  more about.... http://bullbarn.com/simmepd.asp?ID=915 His EPD's are not bad.... I do not know the Angus side of his pedigree (he is a 3/4).... What do you...

    Fresh & Feminine

We fed it to our fall senior yearling. What we did notice is she developed an udder way too early (she calved last week, and had a full udder at state fair in August). She did stay clean in her brisket, and overall looked good, I just did not care for the early udder.... some judges knocked her...

    Thoughts welcomed please

W/C Lockdown. From our experience, he is sleep at night calving ease and will add rib and soften. In our experience, we have more misses with Uno Mas than hits. He will give them a ton  of hair though! I bet with Upgrade in her pedigree she has no hair!

    Just some bull, lol

Thought I would update this; this bull is the Optimizer bull I pictured here numerous times. He is a June bull, so JUST turned one. We have showed him three times and all three champion AOB or percentage. He weighed 1280 in his last weigh in last weekend. I decided to sell him yesterday (we were...

    Breeding Opinions?

At the TN sale this weekend they sold several lots of 5 straws, most consigned by Hudson Pines Farm. I picked up 5 straws, paid $40 a straw for it. He is usually a lot higher than that!
