    Fort worth steer show

I'm just going based off the pictures and videos I saw online, but from what I could tell the Grand was a good bastard. Easy doing, soft, sound, stout, market ready, cool fat steer look to him yet mature. Was he the best one? He looked justifiably exceptional to use for grand. The one Mullinix...

Goretska Show Steers first Texas Sale

There's more customers in Texas because there's just so many more livestock shows that pay good money in Texas. FW, San Antonio, Houston, San Angelo, Austin, Odessa, State Fair in Dallas, West Texas State Fair, a handful of others that I'm not even aware of I'm sure and then county fairs all...

    Fort Worth Steer Show

What was everyone's opinions? How did everyone like Mullinix? Did the right two get grand and reserve?

    Here I am

He throws them hairy, big hipped and as consistently good structured *for clubbies* as anything these days. I'm a big fan. My only complaint is some of his calves can be tighter gutted.

    Fort Worth

Would love to hear anything and everything about the steer show! What'd everyone think? How'd the judge do sorting in year 2? Greatest show in the world. Always love hearing about it. All you Texans should be thankful you have such a great show like that.

    KC Steer Show

This deserves a thread. I've never seen a steer as good as that Kroupa calf that won. And I've watched a lot of majors and state fairs. The structural package, athleticism, presence, balance, everything was just overwhelming. Remarkable beast. Incredible show.

    Is fitting ethical

Don't see how washing, grooming, keeping cattle in cool barns, pampering them, keeping cattle as comfortable as absolute possible could be interpreted as anything but ETHICAL.

    Iowa State Fair Steer Show

Can anyone give us a report on the show? What looked good? Surprises? Any info would be appreciated!

    Slick shearing cattle

I strongly prefer hair shows, but I'm a northerner so I'm biased. I appreciate the beauty pageant aspect of a cattle show; it makes it more fun and I simply enjoy looking at/evaluating cattle with a beautiful coat of hair more. Sure the hair element does get away some from the purity of the beef...

    Belt Buckle Bonanza

Thanks for the intel, Chambero. So, I take it the Skiles black steer that won the prospect show will more than likely be geared for Fort Worth?

    Belt Buckle Bonanza

Can anyone give us the rundown on how the show shaked out? What steers looked good? I saw a picture of the Skiles black/white champion progress steer. He sure looked good. How much did he weigh? And will he end up at Fort Worth? Or is he far enough along that Kansas City/Louisville is a more...

Would Texas ever open their major shows to out of staters?

Boy, it'd sure be fun if Fort Worth opened up. You bet that all the big boys from up north would come down for it. Also, it'd be nice if Denver wasn't terminal. This would attract more haired cattle from Texas who otherwise stay home for Fort Worth. And if Fort Worth was opened up, then the...

Would Texas ever open their major shows to out of staters?

I've always wondered this. As a non-Texan, I would love to see Fort Worth, especially, open up to all states. This would truly be a sight to see. Texans, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. I've been to Fort Worth and it is without a doubt the greatest steer show in the world in terms of...

Fort Worth Steer Show Results on THE PULSE

The grand steer was by far and away the best animal there. I'd like to hear the board's opinion on where this year's grand stacks up to past year's grand champions at Fort Worth. I liked the reserve a lot too. I felt like those two stood out considerably compared to everything else. I thought...

Take aways from 2014 NWSS fat steer show

Here are my takeaways from Denver: 1. I did not care for the reserve. Plain fronted, frail boned, short bodied, not that stout. I'm not the only guy who felt this way. Numerous big time steer guys expressed that same sentiment. I recall one saying: "There are 20 other steers in the barn I'd use...

What do you think of Fort Worth Steer Show?

I wasn't at the show. How did the Martin steer move? What did people think of him? Just wondering. Thanks in advance

WHO IS GOING TO WIN THE CO STATE FAIR

I don't buy this. He popped in his pasterns a bit, but he was plenty athletic on the move IMO. Not sure how I would have sorted this show as it was extremely competitive in the heat, but I didn't care for the grand champion at all.
