Best Clubby Bulls for Charolais Cow

IGWT would work good with her. QB has a bull called Mufasa that's good good. I'd have to look but I think he's a Heatwave x American. There are a handful down in south Tx that are killing it right now if you know who to talk to about semen.

Where at in the Houston area?

    Head shape job

Not sure where you're located in Central Tx but Dr. Pohler in Wharton is right at the top of the list. It's probably a good haul but if you've want them to look really good he's worth it.

    Hoof trimming

You might try to catch up with Bret Cody. I think he runs through there every month or so.

    Steer doesn’t like cottonseed hulls....

Swap the hulls for PreCon. After a month or two he'll get tired of the PreCon and you can go back to the hulls. It's a vicious cycle.

    Logos

https://ranchhousedesigns.com/ If you don't use them, at least look at some of their work. Almost everyone there grew up in or is highly involved in the cattle industry and understand what we need.

    Fall Replacements

Appreciate it. Everything I have is younger, first calver types. Bubba Rutherford in Fairfield, Tx moves a lot of cattle that would fit the bill.

What part of the country are you in? Budget? Open or bred? I'm sitting on about 150 right now.

    2019 FWSS Steer Judge

Figured I'd get it started. Looks like Chris Mullinix will be back. Thoughts, gripes, praises?

Steer or keep as a bull?

What's the scoop with BIM? I don't have any females yet but I'm glad you mentioned it because I have three due in September.

Heifer is past her due date

According to the three online calculators I just used, she's not due until this coming Sunday.

    Herefords

As long as the steer shows prominent breed character, he can be exhibited as whatever breed you'd like. I see steers every weekend that swap between two or sometimes even three breeds depending on who the judge is and how stiff the competition may be for that particular show. I know of one steer...

    Show day drench

If my high school chemistry teacher was correct it is a synthetic liquid substance that absorbs water. Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem like it would be of any benefit to drench cattle with it.

    Show day drench

For us, it just depends on the animal and what they need. Some of the stuff we use: -Water -Dextrose -Keep'n On -Juiced -R&D -Show Shake

Thoughts on micro haircoat solution by KNS, the green stuff, or fresh and full

Others will chime in and say nothing beats elbow grease and rinsing twice a day, and I'll agree with them. BUT, we've been using the Green Stuff for a year and it's done really well for us.

    Husfeld at Ft. Worth 2018

Did he get the top 2 steers right? That's always debatable. There are always a solid two dozen that are in the hunt but at the end of the day he picked two that were very good. I've seen the Reserve steer a time or two and it fits the bill as a "typical" Bonham steer. Good fronted, good feet...

    Husfeld at Ft. Worth 2018

I think we're all just happy it's over with and now we can concentrate on San Antonio lol. I was only able to watch a handful of classes (maybe 10 total?) so I can't really comment on the Herfs or the first couple of AOB. Just like last year, he was consistently inconsistent and a lot of good...

    Genetics / Sire Questions

If you just need bulls with a proven track record I'd look at Tejas or Slider. Other than that, just stay away from any of the clubby stuff for a year or two.
