We have an Unstoppable heifer.  She is structurally correct, great front end and very sound but she was moderate.  Finally turned her out to be a cow about a month ago and she has grown considerably in that short time.  She is due to calve in about 60 days.

I have been doing this for several years for our County Fair.  I always try to find something they can use, not just display.  If you have someone local that will make items, that is always good.  Metal cut-outs, picture frames, embroidery, etc...and they will often do it for little to no cost...

I do not recommend I-80.  We bred a big framed, Monopoly Char cross cow to him hoping to get something show quality.  Labor was short and the cow was pushing with all she had but we still pulled a 100+ pound dead calf.

My guess is you want to know how to keep them clean when it is below freezing outside.  Unless you have a place inside to wash and dry, you really can't.  We can dry inside but have to wash outside, therefore when it gets too cold, we work their hair as much as possible and try to keep the skin...

The same thing happened to use a few years ago.  Luckily it was on the off-show side neck.  The vet made up a liniment/salve potion that we rubbed on her twice a day for a few weeks which reduced the size of the lumps.  It took probably 7 months or longer before the lumps stopped being noticeable.

I had the same issue with ordering from Wilson Farms.  I have been using Show Coat Solutions with much better results and they are a few dollars a gallon cheaper.

Is the Show Coat from Show Coat Solutions that same stuff as the Show Coat from Wilson Farms?  I have been ordering it from one of them but they don't seem very organized and it sometimes takes a lot longer to get it than I think it should.
