Understandable and a bummer, but if there is any sort of chance on a female or bull we keep it gets tested. Just better safe than sorry and for the cost of testing it's fairly cheap insurance to avoid an issue.
Didn't post to trash talk anyone, just posted as to my experence with him. If you question it your more than welcome to PM me, it may have been a one off deal or something like that the first time but it's happened more than once.
I can't say much as to dealing with Matt in person. But via phone and Facebook the guy was plain rude! You can't go around bitting the hand that feeds you and expect to do what he does every year.
Thanks, for the comment really wish i had a better picture of her so i could get a little more feedback. Oh well not much i can do about that with her now 180 miles from school.
Would love to get some better pictures for you to look at and give your opinions but would like to hear what you have to say from this.
We did show this girl and her mother at NJAS this past year but wanted to know what you all think she is a very late born Feb calf out of a first calf heifer...
I'm not saying that anyone in the breed wanted any of these defects but I will say that at least this breed is trying to get rid of the problem... not just letting it carry on like th and pha in other breeds. This is done by not allowing any new carrier bulls to be registered.
Personally i...
Now you can knock Angus all you want that's your choice but at least we have given ourselves a Maternal cow that has proven itself time and time again. I get this is a show cattle site but last check you still can't eat bone or hair out of these show steers.
Not sure that is possible...
Genex when they sex does it prefreeze and you get a farm less amount of semen in a straw than with conventional, not to mention some will be damaged because of how they sort.
Looking for some opinions of bull that have some performance but also have the look for the ring. Cows are very well structured need to be cleaned up through the front a touch. Would like to add some center rib and get them a tick wider made through the rear.
Any opinions would be appreciated...
I don't mean to knock Chi's to any of you that breed them its just the best example in my opinion. These same things could be said for lots of Associations. Maines, Shorthorns are in the same boat with their Shorthorn Plus and Maintainer programs. Like I said not meaning to knock one breed just...
I get that this is a steer page thus the name... But isn't a crossbreed herd book what Chi's have been doing for years?... 6.25% isn't exactly what i call a Chi...

I'm an Angus guy clearly but he has got more percentage in the...
Brillance, Cinch, Bismark those 3 are Schaff bulls really good ones at that you could go with Connealy Thunder @ Genex have a couple great sons that we are going to be using as cleanup bulls this year, also have some very usable heifers by him.
Just a good way to market Angus cattle. The breed has been ahead of others in promotion for years. From the elephant ads of the 70's...? to CAB and now these complain all you want the breed is just marketing better than the others.
SAV Cinch, had a beautiful heifer calf weighed 65lbs. Genex is promoting him as the basically the new Bismark. Straight from the Catalog "Cinch is a low BW and high CED son of Iron Mountain that is expected to follow in Bismarck's footsteps as a go-to calving ease sire." Would recommended him to...
Seeing that your in Canada this might be a problem maybe not... Last year we took a chance on a bull that went through the SAV sale in 2012 and went to Genex. He is a Iron Mtn out of a Bismark cow and the one cow we were able to breed to him last year had a smokin good heifer. The picture Genex...
