Calf was born yesterday out of a PB Simmental cow and our herd bull. Usually hard to get a good pic with a calf, but boy this one was looking pretty good for day one and thought I should share. Lets just hope he continues to impress us like he did on day one.

I bred a heifer this morning and noticed after breeding that some of the semen was above the plug in the straw? Wasn't very much maybe 1/4 or less.  I guess the plug could have been faulty as well since I did not notice any resistance when I pushed the plunger in? Anyone had this happen? Trying...

Looking for some suggestions on how to keep a heifer on halter ? She will rub it off the back of her ears before you get out of the barn. We learned quickly that she always needs a necktie.
