    CF Primo

The recep cows were not the issue. My other calves, which were picked up at the same time, were perfectly fine.  The cows are gentle, and believe it or not, the cow owners said that these calves were always nuts in the pasture. I understand that calf behavior can be learned from the momma cow...

    CF Primo

I can not let this one go without my 2 cents worth. I bought a flush from CF out of their Casino cow and used Primo upon recommendation from CF. When I used him his calves were SUPER INSANE CRAZY.  I mean totally unbreakable, nuts, and just plain psycho.  The heifers were pretty necked but...

    Nebraska Football

Apparently Iowa's fourth string is better than Missouri's starters!  Go Hawks!!! Next year is going to be GREAT!!! Next year will be interesting... I think there will be some huge surprises. As for the OH St players, I am willing to bet they will not see the campus next year.... They had good...

    red polls

I think your on the right track! You have a nice herd of RP and are starting strong in the RA's.  You have a good plan! When comparing the two, which have better maternal ability, and which is more docile?  Are you thinking the Gelv will add some meat and bone?

    Best bull to improve everything

Some of the suggestions are not defect free. So be careful. I might go with OCC or Duff angus genetics.  They would add correctness and thickness, while maintaining maternal ability and easy fleshing ability.

    red polls

A local used to show red polls... oh wait, maybe they were gelvbieh.... or were they red angus..... oh heck, I don't know, and neither did they! They were red though. They were known for showing whatever critter they could steal with whatever registration they had in their hand!  Whatever they...

Does anyone know what Red Angus Sire would be best for AI

As with the other post wanting a red bull, we need more information to make a good sound recommendation.... what do you want to produce? What are the cows you are breeding? To make a recommendation without knowing those variables is shooting in the dark at best, and irresponsible at worst,  IMO.

    low birthweight bulls?

Too little information to make a suggestion. What are the heifers your breeding as far as breed, or pedigree? What are your plans for the calves? What is your management type? Without knowing that vital information, I would suggest a few red angus, so if your interested, let me know.

ft worth steer to pick on

He seems to slope from hooks to pins. Maybe a wee bit heavy in the shoulder and a bit high flanked? Looks like a nice easy keeping steer, but doubt if he will go American (as you stated).

    calf wont walk

In my neck of the woods, we use Limmi's. You say creek, we say crick. Same thing. I think the person who started this post needs direction on maintaining a good relationship with their calf so they can have a fun and successful show season. showstopper, Pretty big comments about my spelling...

    calf wont walk

Well at 15 your at least dry behind the ears, but thats about it. I am a "wee bit older" than that, and when I was showing hard, I showed limmi's so don't preach to me about "knowing how to break not so gentle cattle."   You are a typical 15 year old... think you know how to do everything...

    calf wont walk

More animals have people problems, than people have animal problems. Do NOT resort to "the easy way" and use pain and fear. Trust me... All that will do is create an animal that is fearful of you, and quite possibly turn mean and get worse. All your heifer needs is more time and work. You...

The Beast is dead. 2002268 miles

I had a ford f250 gas that I traded that had 277,800 miles. ALL ORGINAL except for the air conditioning condensor and brakes. I traded for a new one, for no reason except for "one of these days". Bought a new truck, and wish I had my ol' one back.

    calf wont walk

Angusboy, if you decide to use this "hot shot" idea, and you are leading the heifer, let me know what hospital you end up in, and I will send you a card.  Seriously, that is a bad, bad idea. You are suppose to be building TRUST with your show animal, not cause fear and pain. They will...
