I have a cow bred to him for a March calf... I'm excited to see but can't give you any info yet! Going to ultrasound next month so I'll know heifer or bull soon.
Unfortunately that's his far tag so it will have to stay in for about 6 more weeks, I willike probably change it after that!
Thanks for the input. He was born when the wind chill was below 0 so we didn't have time to fight with momma nursing him. His mom's first calf (she aborted the last one...
Here are a few updated pictures of our little guy Bosa. He seems to be doing just fine. The vet saw him a few weeks ago when he was castrated and said he may continue to improve. He sees fine, he seems to be doing fine... and he is eating A LOT!! (clapping)
We have an Alias heifer on the ground that looks good. I figure the combo of him and Monolopy will be a good combo. I have 5 straws of him coming, unfortunately they are backordered from ABS
Just spoke with my vet after sending him pictures as well. He said that the issue is Strabismus, so his eye muscles are not strong enough to keep the eyeball up allowing it to roll down. This creates the white. Said that in 60-70% of the calves they get better with age and using their eyes. So...
The white part on the top of his eyes. It's almost like an extended eye lid. In reference to your comment about his domed cranium pretty much all of that is hair. He's an almost famous/ali's solution bull calf. His mom has enough hair to be a buffalo!
Has anyone ever seen this before. We have a bull calf that was born like this, he is now 2 weeks old. Can't say it's worse can't say it is any better. He acts normal and it doesn't seem to effect his vision. If effects both eyes. We are looking at the white part at the top of his eyes. There are...
You give the GNRH 24 hours before you breed? I'm not a AI specialist but wouldn't the egg already be pasted by the time you breed?
The timed AI protocols that I've seen do the same the as what Rackranch said... Give a shot of GNRH then breed.
That is what my vet suggests. He believes they do...
We implant CIDR's and leave them in 7-10 days. Give lute when we pull them. 48 hours later GnRh and breed 24 after that. Takes out the guessing and doesn't look like it should add any cost to the program you are using now.
When are you wanting to have the pictures all posted? I'd say to adjust your schedule accordingly to have them ready for pictures instead of the sale. You could always creep feed the calves to give them some extra goodies. We use Purina pre-con feed and the calves do exceptional on it!! They...
Breeding our hide-n-watch cow again. Looking at a few bulls and want some opinions on which would be best. Looking at BIM, Frisky Whiskey or Fu Man Chu. Any opinions or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!!
Call Sullivan's they typically have used ones for decent prices and they have a 90 warranty on the motor. I got one it was in great shape no problems!! :)

The link above has all the BEST Shows on it, which are pretty much most of the Ohio shows for winter. Some shows are Ohio residents only so if you're not from Ohio make sure it's not an Ohio only show before you go.
