This is a great idea. I always carry VitaCharge paste or boluses.  I feel it helps cattle drink if they won't, not sure if it actually works but it makes me feel better.

I was going to use him on some red angus cows.  Am I nuts?

My preference would be Red Angus on the Gelbvieh cows.  I have seen some really good Ruger sired calves out of gelbvieh cows.
