1st year to show--????opinion our steer

this is one we raised, decided to use the first year to save a little on cost.  curious about some opinions of those of you that have been doing it awhile.  is he decent for market animal, are we on the right path.

Really decent, hard to get too technical from the pic but looks well fed and well made. Sure looks to me like your on the right track.

Looks to me your on the right track, he appears to be well fed and good structured the only thing I would say is thicken his rear end up a bit but still very nice!!  (clapping)

He looks like a commercial calf, I'm guessing, not that that is a bad thing my boys started out with them as well. To me he looks like you got everything out of him you were going to get, he looks finished, fed right and ready to go.
i would pay attention to what the judge says about him and others in ring, pick up on what the judge sees positives and weaknesses in all the animals. When you go to pick your steer next year remember what the judge said and look for a calf that fits what the judge was looking for.
Good luck and have fun with the calf this year, it looks like you have many fun years ahead of you.
